Players coming for workout

Any news on guys coming in for workouts?

I think Monk Tatum Isaac and Mitchel are 4 guys very important for Kings to workout in person.

Monk and Mitchel to examine examine their lead guard potential.
Tatum to see how he looks with nba level guys on court with him.

I would love to coordinate Isaac coming in same day with Tatum since likely we will be picking between these 2 guys

the Kings brought in Mitchell yesterday. I believe we will know who the next slate of players are by Monday or Tuesday.

It sucks that the Kings are no longer filming the workouts.
Where do you find this info? And is there any news on what the kings reaction about the players are? Or is this stuff all behind closed doors?
Kings Twitter updates it too. twitter.com/sacramentokings
However, they tweet a bunch of other stuff that's unrelated to workouts, but it could be informative to introducing prospects.

At the five pick, Fox, Tatum, maybe Isaac are in play and you’d have to think the Kings want a workout. Sacramento issues aside, I could see how Jackson and Ball would pass on working out for the Kings because they aren’t falling outside the top 5. Fox came and worked out and has shown interest in the Kings, at least in part, because he needs a floor / firewall, and it’s clear that approach has worked. If Tatum and Isaac don’t work out, that seems like an issue.

Monk, Isaac again, Markkanen, Ntilikina, and kinda Dennis Smith are in a position where they would normally work out for teams holding the 5th and 10th picks. These players would like to go in the top 5 and don’t want to somehow fall outside the top 10 …. unless the place is so undesirable or fraught with issues that the headaches aren’t worth the differences in pay slots. It will be very interesting to see how many of these players work out.

Then you’ve got Collins, Anunoby, Mitchell, the other Collins, Justin Jackson and others that would presumably like to move into the top 10. For these players, the “will he work out” question probably turns a lot on the “anywhere but Sacramento issue.” Jackson has already worked out and Mitchell is coming in. That’s good. I think the Kings will get more of these players … if they don’t that’s a red flag for the Kings standing in the league.

They also got Harry Giles to work out, but that seems like a stretch / Giles trying to get some traction in the draft.

It’s a good thing that more people have worked out for the Kings. I anticipate they will get more lottery prospects into two. But, with the Kings holding 20% of the first ten picks in the draft, a team without the Kings issues would typically work out more players / get more players to agree to work out.

What are top 10 prospects doing this year, league wide. Are the top ten candidates each visiting the teams picking the top ten spots?

Most of the teams in the lottery have "issues". Hence why they are in the lottery. Has any player made a statement "this season" about not working out for the Kings?

At least a little disingenuous or defensive. The way the Kings were passed over the last few seasons was an outlier. Not just compared to other NBA teams, but even this team back in the dark ages in the early 90s.

I see that Monk worked out for the Suns and will visit the Magic. But on the other hand, looking into this it doesn't seem like Markkanen, Isaac, Ntikina have been out much at all ... so perhaps those will heat up and the Kings will be among them. I do hope so. Right now there is reason to think the Kings will get more high end workouts. At the same time, Fox nailing down a floor and Giles trying to get somebody to bite on his talent does not equate things being on par with other teams with "issues." I think it's too early to say either way. Having two picks should help, in particular with a pack of players that could go between 5 and 9-10.

I don't think you have to wait for statements ... I'm pretty sure the Kings want to workout everyone that's between 3 and 15 on their draft board. They will get to see some in group workouts, which is fine because the agent is putting most teams in the no-solo workout box. But, based upon how things have gone the last few years, having two high picks, and the Kings probably being willing to move either up or back for the right player ... I think you can safely assume a player in the Kings draft range, that does solo workouts for other teams, but doesn't come here, declined to work out for Sacramento. That seems pretty safe and reasonable. The flip side would be the Kings didn't ask ... and I think that would be worse.

And it was awfully casual for Fox to show up at 10pm after the Warriors game..

It will be interesting who shows up. Really doesn't get interesting until you see where the rest of the prospects have been

I agree. I've probably posted previously that I'd rather the Kings not waste a pick on a 4 or 5 since we seem to be set there. But Patton is an exciting prospect.
He's not going to be drafted in spots our picks currently sit. Really like his potential but it's not all that more exciting than the potential already offered by Trill, Skal, or the Greek Peak. And Kosta is still on the roster.

Voisin tweeted that she is hearing Kings are working out Fultz on Sunday. Very very interesting if true. I had thought I had read Fultz would only work out fo Boston. Could mean nothing, could mean our front office is an 800lb gorilla now.

Take that for data.
Just saw the same Voisin news on Hoopshype. Big if, but 5 and 10 for the first pick anyone?

Wow Fultz is going to workout for us? Scott Perry doing work.

Don't think #5 + #10 is enough for #1 however.
If anything I could see a three way deal.

Phi gets: #5 Monk + #10
Sac gets: #1 Fultz
Boston gets: #3 Jackson + Wcs

This of course hinges on the idea that Ainge really loves Jackson and that Jackson falls to #3. I can see that. He had no problem taking Brown there last year. And they get a modern day big guy as well. So possible, but not guaranteed Ainge does this.
Phi on the other hand gets the guy the fits them the most + #10 in a deep draft. I think they would do this.

So asuming the other teams do it, should Sac do this? I havent watched Fultz enough to be sure. But if he is as good as everyone thinks I think you can make a good argument that you should and get your franchise cornerstone.

Fultz
Hield Bogdanovic
SF?
Skal
PapaG

Only thing missing is a tough 3&D SF and the rebuild is pretty much done.

If we can somehow get the number one for our 2 picks and a player Vlade should be GM of the year.

Fultz can be the franchise player we need.

I don't see anyways why Boston should do that. I believe they would trade #1 just for an established player like Butler or George. I don't think they want to add more youngsters, they want to compete now and they need a star.

That would actually be a really good deal, but I think Philly would need to give up 1 more piece. 5+10 for 3 seems unbalanced.

No way am I giving up #5, #10, and wcs for a guy that might end up being Damian Lillard. I don't believe in Fultz enough for that package. That's just me though, I'm sure others wouldn't balk at that price.

3 way trade? Kings have the assets to do it.

Kings: #1
Celtics: Paul George+WCS+10
Pacers: #5

I think every team ends up happy. Celtics are basically trading down from #1 to #10, to receive Paul George and WCS. Pacers on the other hand, get a #5 pick for George who's leaving anyways.

I think in this scenario Indiana should receive our 2 picks. Boston walks away with PG13 and they have the star they want. Indiana gets 2 top 10 picks and starts the rebuilding. Where do I sign?

If Boston wanted Jackson a 3 ... I think its unlikely the 76ers and Boston make this deal. Danny will end up extracting more from the 76ers, who would rather have Fultz than 5 and 10 and have tons of assets to make that happen if that's what they want. Plus, the 76ers would only settle for a three way trade including Sacramento if they didn't think they could make a deal directly with Boston.

Boston won't trade the 1 pick for Paul George because he's got one year left and probably walking to the Lakers thereafter. Instead, they value that pick as probably either a young cheap dynamic guard or flipping that asset to the Bulls for Butler on a long a cheaper contract that George. The Kings would have to get over that value ... which means if the Kings are going for the one pick ... it's going to take a fair amount more than Stein.

I think the Kings are in the conversation by dangling picks this year and either the 2021 pick or more god forbid a 2018 pick swap. Because Vivek probably envisions Futlz and Buddy as his Splash Brothers, the Celtics position and how Danny negotiates, I think you should brace yourself for the types of draft day trades not seen since Webber was dealt to and from the Warriors in back to back year for MULTIPLE PICKS. And if Fultz is really coming to work out ... I think the Kings have already put those on the table.

I think Boston would want more for the 1st pick, but I wouldn't include WCS, as some have suggested.

Seeing that Boston is in win now mode and all their centers are all free agents this summer (Horford is their PF), I would send the #5, #10 and Kosta Koufus for the number 1 and draft Fultz.

I would think that the Pacers would just demand the #1 pick for George.

Further corroboration that Divac wants to move up. It's just a question if he can wangle it. I don't think Boston wants Fultz. Fultz doesn't give them a chance at a championship. Boston wants to trade Fultz in exchange for experienced proven guys like George who can legitimately give them a shot at the NBA championship. He's looking to make the same kind of change like when he brought in Garnett and Ray Allen to join Pierce and Rondo. It seems to me that this would have to be a three-way deal in which some other team gets the Kings' picks and Boston gets excellent playerss (e.g. George) and massive cap room to make the big push for talent.
