I. Cousins future with the Kings

#1
Vlade had a nice draft night last year and one of the players who gets lost in the shuffle is I. Cousins who was drafted in the 2nd round. He's been in Reno and has had some good games up there. If he can develop like the rest of guys we have sent to the D league and produce talk about a grand slam draft. So what are your thoughts on him and his future with us going forward?

His play in summer league this year should be telling. After a year in the D league he should be able to hold his own. If not then there will be some cause for worry.

Well he has good size for a PG and a tight relationship with Buddy. I believe he only got extensive PG time later in his college career as Hield was the SG. so there is still room for growth as a PG. I agree, summer league well tell a lot.

I would add that if IC does show promise but is either not nba ready yet or there is just no roster spot for him (possibly both) he would be exactly the kind of guy that that the two-way contracts in the the new CBA is designed for. We could lock him up for a low investment with the possibility of bringing him up later when things change or just to see his chops against the big boys.

If we draft a point guard and re-sign one of DC or Lawson, there might not be room for IC next year, since Galloway will be the 3rd PG.

But, I think if he works on his game in the D-League, when Galloway's contract is up, he may have a spot as the third PG on the Kings.

He was pretty bad to start but the last month of the year he was basically a 20ppg scorer on fairly decent percentages with a good amount of rebounds and assists. His only problem was the fact that his 3 point shooting went way down from college. Could have been a down year. Either way he impressed me by the end of the season.

I. Cuz has no future with the Kings IMO...he is going to continue to play in the D-League and maybe a team out there will take a flyer on him, otherwise, he may play overseas in the near future.
