Its pretty simple with this series. In the playoffs all of your sets are scouted out, your plays get busted early and players have to make individual plays. If you have a great isolation player or two you have a real good chance at advancing thru. The regular season is more for 3 point shooting, ball movement and transition. But in the playoffs for the most part it becomes a stars game. When your star is 5'9 and has a game predicated on getting to the foul line it becomes a problem.

Man I wish we would have found a way to get that Rondo/Cuz/Gay team into the playoffs somehow(Maybe if Joerger came a year early). That team was built for slow playoff basketball. IT is a great offensive regular season player but as you can see in the playoffs being 5'9 makes you a net negative when your constantly being picked on the defensive end regardless of how much you can score.

So is Ranadive a genius for seeing this and not extending IT??:D:D

I'd like to see a bigger sample size. The last time we saw playoff Rondo he was in Dallas, we all knew how that ended up. That said, Boston is a one trick pony, they rely way too heavily on one player and while that may work in the regular season, it gets magnified in the postseason. Ainge messed up not going after George, Butler or Cousins. He could of attained one of them with his assets but he'd rather build around Thomas o_O.
Rondo is at his best when he has free reign and Carlile is a dictator when it comes to his PGs. Hoiberg is basically letting Rondo run the show at the moment, which is where he thrives, mostly on the big stage. Not really surprised by this he is one of the smartest players in the NBA.

Celtics screwed up that deadline big time. This is all on that Front office.

You are making it seem as if Rondo is playing like prime Rondo, which he is not IMO. He just looks really good because of the opposing PG that is "defending" him. Didn't Rondo also get benched during the season and in place of him MCW played? o_O

BIG difference between what happens during the season and what happens in the playoffs. Whatever the reason, Rondo is playing at a level that is enabling the Bulls to thus far wipe the court with the Celtics, something no one saw happening. And isn't that all that really matters?

He also has Wade and Butler stepping their game up another notch.

Robin Lopez made a big impact (x-factor) on last night game, i cant remember last time he made all those long range shoots, with almost no mistake. And of course, love watching Rondo and Wade in Play-offs! Its not over, but this is a huge lead for Bulls.

Butler had had a miserable first half and the Bulls haven't really been playing that well and are still in great position to take this game.
