My god man, when did 25 become old. I'd give my right arm to be 25 years old again. How long does the average player in the NBA play for one team? 3 years? 4 years? Yeah, you have the Duncan's and Jordan's of the world, but the average player usually doesn't stick around with one team very long. Sometimes they price themselves out, and sometimes they don't fit well. So why worry about a player being 25 years old. If he can play, and we have him for 4 or more years, then fine. If he can't play, then who cares?

Nothing bugs me more than this age crap. There was a time when every player that came into the NBA was 21 years old or older. They all went to college for four years, and frankly, it was a lot easier to figure out who could play in the NBA and who couldn't then. Now we draft some 19 yr old kid who was diapers a couple of years earlier, spend 3 years trying to teach him how to play, and far too often, he ends up in Europe or out of the league. Give me a 25 year old player that knows how to play and I'm happy.
I agree with this general sentiment but I tend to skew younger in the draft just because of the way the rules are set up now. Anyone with a shot at top 10 is leaving early which means the talent level gets diluted way down by the time you get to the 3 and 4 year college players. There are always exceptions though. Unless they change the one and done rules you really don't have a choice but to draft on potential and develop teenagers on your own dime. These players get scouted so much by the time they even get to college that the odds of finding a star player go way down if you're not picking primarily 19 and 20 year olds.

Bogdan is a different case though. We already used a pick on him (more or less). He's not too old to fit with our younger core. We need talent anywhere we can get it right now in the starting lineup and on the bench.

Good news apparently.

Fenerbahce returned to Istanbul, bracing good news on MRI for Bogdan Bogdanovic right ankle, sources tell me.

Some other Turkish sources are talking about a 2-weeks stop.

David Pick‏@IAmDPick

Fenerbahce announce no damage to Bogdan Bogdanovic ankle. U will see BOMBdanovic get buckets in Euroleague playoffs.

I really hope Bogdan plays lights out and his team wins the Euroleague championship this year and he finally comes over to the NBA this summer! :)

Yeah, I understand the system we have now, and why we end up drafting kids that 18 or 19 years old. It is what it is. I wish they would increase the age limit a little as a compromise, and maybe they will in the future. But when a talented player comes along and he happens to be over 23 years of age, I don't get why that player is downgraded because of it. Look at Malcom Brogdan last year. I said he deserved to be a 1st round pick before the draft and the only reason he wasn't was because of his age. Now he's in the running for ROY. I don't understand the mentality.

It's hard to overlook the fact that the owner trades his franchise center for a SG who he compared to Steph Curry and on multiple occasions told Buddy he was going to get him. Buddy will get every chance to succeed. That leaves Bogdan as a backup on a bad team. Not ideal. Coming to the NBA to play as an undersized SF against Durant, Lebron, Leonard, etc.... is not a smart business move. He can try to negotiate for a one year deal, but playing backup or against Small forwards isn't going to increase his value for the next contract.
Jeeze. Do you care at all about being accurate, or does that just get in your way? First, the trade wasn't DMC for Buddy. It just wasn't, no matter how many times you and some others repeat that story. Second, there is no evidence that Vivek compared Buddy to Steph. Some media guy said some unidentified person told him that. Is that your evidence? Or are you just repeating something that others are repeating because it's a convenient slap in the face of Vivek? I'd love for Vivek to lose his position as managing partner of the Kings because of the track record he's earned thus far. So I'm no fan. But even more I hate the use of false and suspect info that gets repeated around here as fact.

Well, for starters, we did learn the wonderful nugget that Vivek would pull a Wicked Witch every time he saw Buddy.

"I'll get you (on my team) my pretty."

Oh boy I don't even know how often I wrote that in a slightly different context.;)

Ok. The known quantity we got back for Cousins was Hield. Plain and simple. The other players are filler. Lottery pick is fine, but you don't know what it will turn out to be. We've had lottery picks for years and haven't uncovered another Cousins type talent level. We know what Cousin's is. So for now, known quantity for known quantity is Cousins for Hield.

Second. "Some media guy" is where we get our additional access to information. Depending on their track record, we can make a decision on whether we trust what they say. But I don't have front row seats next to Vivek and I don't have access to players other than what I see on the court or in an interview. If I can't rely on a credible media guy, then my information will be severely limited. However, I won't dismiss what is told to me by a media guy simply because I don't like the message unless I have reason to doubt it.

Not sure where or how I offended you, but my bad. I've come to terms with Vivek as an owner, but that doesn't mean I won't poke at him when I get the chance.

I don't see these things as you do. An 85% to 90% shot at a Top Ten Draft Pick in this draft is a known quantity. This pick has an actual value. Langston, Omri and Tyreke also have value.

You didn't offend me. You are just one of 20 posters around here that I could have jumped on for over-simplfying the DMC trade and repeating a piece of unverified "news" as though it were fact. (Yes, my opinion.) Sorry you were my target. As I've posted before, Vivek is an easy target for frustrated Kings fans. It's not difficult to criticize him with observable facts without having to resort to questionable facts. That's where I'm coming from. But that's my opinion, and I wouldn't be on this board if I didn't want to hear the opinions of others. (Even when they're wrong!)

LOL. Fair enough.

Surprisingly, Bogdan played tonight and checking the boxscore looks like he played well.

16 pts (4/5 from the field, 2/3 from three, 6/7 from the ft line) 2 rbs 4 ast 1 stl 1 to

Most important is what coach Obradovic said after the game...

"... It’s obvious that our rotation is very, let’s say, short because of the situation we have with some players. And for me it was a big surprise because Bogdan really insisted to play even without almost any practice."

Updating...

Fenerbahce won last regular season game 68-65 in OT, Bogdanovic scored 15 (top scorer for his team).

12 of his 15 points in the last 8' (3' + overtime), 12 of his team last 15 points.

Actually, 12 points in a row, last 5 in the 4th quarter and first 7 in OT. Then Sloukas finished the game from the FT line.

Now it's playoff time, I keep you guys updated.

I'm really intrigued by how Bogdan will be used next year. Will he play on the ball as a combo guard? That's what I think he is based solely on a couple of youtube clips.

You mean assuming he comes to the Kings? I don't think that's anywhere close to a done deal right now.

That's a nice way to start playoff basketball.

Live update... Close game right now, it just started the 4th quarter, Fenerbahce up by 2 (51-53), Bogdanovic best player on the court.

Outstanding basketball in the last quarter by the Turkish team, big win in the loudest arena in the world (58-71, from 42-28 in the 2nd quarter).

Bodganovic MVP: 23 pts (9/12 from the field, 5/6 from three), 5 rbs, 4 asts, 2 stls, 3 blks in front of... Papagiannis.

He played a great game, I'll post highlights but they're gonna show just a little of his production.

I've been watching as much as I can of him and appreciate your post. He looks like he might have a little PG in him. I know we couldn't see the whole game but in the highlights, and in some other film I've been watching, he appears to be the primary ballhandler with good court vision. In any event, he looks like a very good prospect. Would help our PG problem if he could handle some of that responsibility. I'm interested in your opinion...

Yes, thanks for the post. I'm also very curious about his ability to lead the team. It seems Buddy has some potential there as well and it would be interesting to see if they could form a formidable backcourt.
That possibility would make picking Zach Collins if hes the BPA when we pick more understandable.

Lol...who the hell is that announcer?

PapaGiannis posted today on twitter that he is hearing that Bogdan is coming to Sac this summer. Who knows if it is solid intel, but it sure would be good news!
Kings GM Vlade Divac had already mentioned that they are interested in bringing Bogdanovic aboard next season and Papagiannis might know a thing or two about that: “As far as I know, he [Bogdanovic] will come to Sacramento this summer. At least that’s what people of the team say,” Papagiannis mentioned in an interview with Greek Sport FM radio.

It does seem like Bogdan would want to visit Sacramento and check out the situation this summer before making a decision. The young man will just decide where he wants to live and make lots of money:)

I think he's ok (not good, but in case he can help) as a PG. He's very good in pick n roll situations, but he's not a point guard. Actually, yesterday was on the court with Dixon and Sloukas at the same time, so he played as a SF as well. But he definetely a SG, especially in the NBA where he can't guard SF. He reads situations very well, check out how he attacks the big man after the defense switch on the pnr. Let's say, I don't want him as a point guard, but in case of broken plays better give the ball to Bogdanovic than to Hield or Collison. Same way the Spurs used Ginobili for years.
Unfortunately highlights don't show how he played in his own halfcourt, because of course he didn't rest to score 23. This game was really impressive.

It doesn't seem like Bogdanovic is athletic enough to play PG in the NBA. If the Kings end up having a back-court of Bogdanovic-Hield............ who plays defense? I guess the Kings can experiment next year during our "rebuild".

He actually reminds me of less talented Evan Fournier. I just don't see Bogdanovic playing PG at the next level. He'd have a lot of trouble creating his shots vs. PGs. He's not quick enough to blow by them, and he'd have separation issues.
