We wont be getting Fox or Ntilikina, or even Smith. Our draft position is too low and there is little time left to tank. I really want to be wrong about this.
Then we draft a SF with one of our picks and if we have to, take Markkanen with the second pick. We should get 2 good guys. Obviously getting a PG would be priority but get 2 good guys and maybe make a deal later.

Hey great win! The pick situation makes it hard to figure whether we should be winning or losing. I just hope lottery luck finally comes to us this year and we get two picks in the 4-9 territory.

If we lose too much, philly reaps the benefits. If we win too much we don't get a good pick. Also I'm hoping for NO to lose, but just enough to get 4th.

Although at this point, Spencer is a more effective NBA player than Joakim Inactive List Noah.
Not to mention Noah was just suspendend for 20 games for violating the NBA drug policy.
guys seriously - its spencer 'soggy waffles' hawes - who cares whats happening at this point. This is the kid that openly supported a move to seattle for this franchise even though he was a former player. Noah was everything we needed in that draft.

The last two games have been so much fun to watch! This team is miles ahead of where it was before the all star break. Yes less wins but so much more potential. So much more fun to watch. So much less complaining and counter productive drama. In my eyes the TRADE has been vindicated very nicely. The future looks bright!

Ok, It has been fun to see the team come together and play well these last several games, but seriously; what the hell are we doing?

Currently we sit in the 8th spot; two ahead of the Sixers. We have games upcoming against the Pelicans, Mavs, Lakers, Wolves and Suns. These are all very winnable.

These teams will be tanking hard. If we win too many we will lose our pick entirely. We sure as hell better not lose our pick just so Joeger can have a little victory over his former team.

Can we please be smart for once?
Joerger said this was the last time we'd see the vets out there together. I believe him.

I believe he's right about the Sun's and Fakers tanking, but the Mav's, Pel's and Wolves are still in the playoff picture, so I don't think they'll be tanking. Especially the Pel's who want to prove that they're a much better team with Cousins. The game against the Grizz was personal for Joerger, and that's the reason Papa didn't play and Skal only got limited minutes. I doubt you'll see that the rest of the way. I love the way Willie is progressing by the way.

Not sure why you think that it's too late to tank? If we finish bottom 8, we're guaranteed one of Fox, Smith or Ntilikina. Right now we are tied with Minnesota for the seventh pick, and we could easily finish with the sixth pick if Minny and New York play better than us down the stretch.

Yeah, we should be able to get Smith or Frank. I'm looking forward to workouts and combines to see who really shines.

On another note, very big game today between Portland and Denver as they fight it out for the 8th spot. It seems that trade with Nurkic shot Denver in the foot. I think Portland has this, Pels might as well just rest their big's so they are ready for next season;)

Because we could ideally end up with DSJ/Fox+Tatum, but instead, we settle for the 2nd tier prospects. Imo, there's an enormous gap of talent after 7. Lucky for the kings, we currently hold 8th seed....

It's seriously too late for us to tank for a better pick. I posted it in another thread, but we basically have at least 5 winnable games left vs. horrible teams looking to tank. The rest of the tanking teams all have top 15 teams. We are not tied for Minnesota for 7th. We have sole possession of 8th seed. lesigh.

Those two won't be available at 8 IMO if the Kings so happen to draft in that slot. In order to attain Fox or Smith, they need at the very least a top 6 pick.

Wolves are out of playoff picture, but seems they are not (thankfully) tanking yet.

As Bajaden suggested above, it is likely that the only 2 teams that are actively tanking are the Suns and Lakers. And those teams are firmly in the 2nd and 3rd spots.
Minnesota won tonight, so they are now tied again with the Kings.

Both the Wolves and the Kings are young and have proud coaches that want to win. Wolves could of so easily rolled over in the last minute vs the Pacers. We will see if Joerger backs off the vets the final 9 games. The Lakers, and I know I have said it a thousand times, if they get bumped out of the top 3 I will dance an Irish Jig.

No, because if Philly goes on a winning streak our pick will go to them in the swap. If we win more games and still jump into the top 3 and Philly doesn't, our pick will go them in the swap. Our draft location is dictated by Philly and lottery balls, not necessarily just by wins and losses.

How do you tell a team to tank? Joerger has been resting vets left and right but the team plays hard every night. Most of the vets that have been playing will be back next season. I expect Temple, Tolliver, Koufos and one of Collison or Lawson to return. I think Evans, Afflalo and Mclemore wont be here. Evans and Afflalo have been rested the most and Mclemore is only getting sporadic minutes. Also Philly is 6th right now likely to finish above Knicks and Magic. They will swap with us if we finish lower so its likely we will have the 6th, 7th or 8th pick plus NO pick which is looking to be 9-11

Please... so much potential? Should I remind you that even before the trade we had Skal, Papa, Malachi, WCS? Adding Buddy means "so much more potential"?

For some fans it's much more fun to watch games now because we have no expectation and every win is a reason for hope. Before we had legit playoff expectations and losses were much harder to swallow.

Right now we have the same potential we had before the trade, plus Buddy but without a top 5/10 player still in his prime. We still don't know where we will end up in the draft.

No drama, sure. But honestly I care more about Ws than smiles and hugs. The Shaq and Kobe lakers were drama queens, but still they managed to win titles. That's what matters to me.

I'm saying, right? If you want to go Full Napear with the, "Boy, Jerry, isn't it great that...", that's cool. Many of the people who are still here hated Cousins, and some claim that they didn't but were sick of his whining, anyway, and are glad that he's gone. And that's all good. Unless you seriously believe that Buddy Hield has more upside than DeMarcus Cousins ( o_O ), the Kings have the same (or less) amount of potential that they had six weeks ago. What the Kings do have is a commitment to move forward in a direction that is different from the direction that they were moving in before the All-Star break. And, if you like this direction better than the other direction, that's cool, too. A lot of Kings fans do. And those of us who don't have to come to terms with that, on our own. But, you ain't gotta lie to kick it.
