[Game] Kings @ Warriors - 3/24/17 - 7:30PT/10:30ET

Not to cover for Ben, because he is terrible, but Buddy did play four years in college so that helped him tremendously IMO.
My hope is we parlay Ben into something in S&T. If another team signs Ben to offer sheet it is not unusual to work out compensation so acquiring team preserves cap space against "threat" of match. But divorce / fresh start is in best interest for both parties. I wanted Ben to succeed and I think was one of few remaining holdouts but I've seen enough. And I've said I have seen enough about 3-4X now! Buddy so far is 15/3/2 with shooting splits of 50/45/83 . He's year younger than Ben (9 months to be exact). Ben's best comparison is 12/3/2 with splits of 44/36/82 in second season. Average vs very good. Then you compare about 300 NBA games vs less than 100. Ben has pro experience with nothing to show for it. Buddy has legitimate promise and skill set and something to get excited about with normal development curve.

It does make one wonder how Ben would of developed if he hasn't had as many head coaches and a lack of a developmental coaching staff in place

You can wonder that but Buddy was acquired and basically thrown out there. He was not given advantage of developmental intensive (so to speak) before he started playing 25-30 MPG. Buddy was effectively told to "do you". With modest success more minutes were granted. Not unlike how Isaiah and his role expanded as Jimmer's role contracted. I think the real problem with Ben was NOT number of coaches and quality of developmental training. That's a cop out.

The real problem was Ben was granted TOO many minutes before he was ready, minutes he did not earn or deserve. His confidence waned. He couldn't dribble or pass against guys who seized on this weakness. It was throwing pup to the wolves. What could've made difference possibly would have been to bring him along more slowly. Sending him to the D-League to work on his weakness. And increase his confidence against inferior competition. But the Kings didn't have that luxury. The former GM miscalculated and we know how that played out.

The outgoing GM allegedly left a dossier on Giannis and said this is the guy. Ego or stupidity or something got in the way and the rest is history. Fans want to talk about circumstances and where a player is drafted as main determinants of success. I can tell you unequivocally if Giannis was the pick and experienced the turmoil and upheaval than Ben has gone through, his performance and prognosis would differ dramatically. Talent reigns.

EXACTLY!! And that's the reason I do not want our current rookies pushed to start until they're ready. (Right now doesn't count...they know they're not "real" starters.) The D-League, when used properly, is the best tool possible to develop younger players who have potential but need to improve their skills and confidence before going up against the real pros.

Well, I was a three-sport athlete in high school (not big [fast in the case of track] enough to make the team in college), and a staple of my commands' basketball teams while I was on active duty... but I guess that probably doesn't qualify as "spent a lot of time in the gym." :(
Slim,
You have spent plenty of time in the gym. I am surprised that you didnt' get the concept.

What happened was Vivek got cold feet and changed his mind at the last second about that fat contract extension.

And then Vivek ONLY wanted Hield or Ingram. The trade had Vivek's stink all over it.

In fact, every bad move can be traced back to our garbage owner. This is how it goes when a franchise has rot at the top. Us Kings fans know this from the Magoof days. Vivek is somehow even worse.

But I'm sure Vlade will be thrown under the bus when his time comes.

We're The Knicks west.
yep. even if we draft well, whose to say Viveks going to pony up and pay the cash we need to stay relevant once the kids grow into stars.

how you dont extend and resign cousins is still beyond me
