[Game] Kings v. Timberwolves - 2/27/17 - 7:30PT/10:30ET

1. Both players were bones of contention with the fan base
2. Both players didn't bring back anything close to value when they were traded
3. Both players really wanted to stay in Sacramento.

And, in reference to my comment, the flare-up around here when Webber was traded was earth-shattering.
1. Sure, give you that.

2. Webber was traded for old garbage on a solid a team (obviously not a move to improve in the future), to pad the Maloofs pockets. Cousins got us a rookie lottery pick, another (probably) lottery pick and an almost guaranteed chance to stay in the lottery with our own pick this year. No, it's not fair face value, but comparing getting Kenny Thomas and elderly filler to essentially 3 lottery picks is really silly.

3. And I respect the man for it. But Webber was the heart and soul of the best era of Sacramento basketball.

Also this is what we should be expecting and more or less hoping for for the next 25 games. We need our picks and winning does not serve us at all if we are hoping to truly improve at any point in the next couple years.
Um, okay...tell that to the people who are sitting in those fancy new seats they paid way too much money for. We were supposed to be done with this crap. Forgive me if I'm not over-excited about the intriguing possibility of traveling 2 hours each way to watch the team I've followed since 1985 stink up the freaking court...again.

Tank to pick a player who maybe has a shot to make a fraction of the impact Boogie made.

It's an awful reality we're in.
Or be Portland and tank to end up with the #1 pick in the draft, who saw less time on the court in his entire career than some of our rooks have seen this season.

Such a good question. Worse trade Cousins or Webber.

I'd actually go with the Webber trade as worse because the parts actually harmed the future.
It's really not a good question. We got old nothings for Webber while still being a playoff team. We got assets to build on for Cousins on a team that was going nowhere.

I HATE seeing the Lawson and Collison/Tyreke dribbling shows taking 40 shots combined for guys who wont be here next year. Those guys are not playing team ball anymore they are not dumb they see the writing on the wall!!

How is these guys looking out for their next contracts going to develop willie skal buddy etc?

Id rather even see Skal/Willie ISO than whatever those three are doing.

Buddy is a freakin Marco Belineli clone in every way. He can kinda shoot but can not seperate so you can't run sets for him. Im not sure you can develop athleticism and speed as you get older. He can't handle or create either so you can not put him in pick n rolls either. And a bad to average defender on top of that. If Joerger makes something significant out of him Ill be shocked.

Remember when we out muscled these same Wolves at the beginning of the year? Man that feels like years ago.

It is not an ideal reality you are right. However, the Cousins reality was mediocre at best. We were 9 games under 500, we had never made the playoffs with Boogie. I loved the guy and no one has ever doubted his talent, but it was time. Yes we were more competitive, but we weren't heading towards anything but a 37 win season without draft picks. Both parties needed a fresh start.
