Something that isn't being talked about too much yet is what effect this will have on Joeger. Didn't he say that he didn't want to coach a rebuild?

It's 130 am. I can finally get on the forum. I can't sleep and I still feel like throwing up from this awful news.

People are not understanding the man. He is loyal by nature. He's also now in his home town's tv market. His mission now is to prove the Kings to be the most incompetent team in the league for trading him. This is how he finds motivation. There is a reason he has a chip on his shoulder, it's just how he is built and what fuels him emotionally. However he is self aware enough to know this about himself, and was JUST beginning to figure out how to harness the tremendous energy all that spite provides. All great athletes find a source of motivation like that. It's called "bulletin board material", meaning it's the crap other people say about you that you put up in the locker room to motivate you to prove them wrong.

I predict Cousins first 60 pt game will be against the Kings.

He has humiliated those of us who invested in this team.

Here's my quick run-down of what I think happened.

1. We started have significant doubts about spending 200 mil on Cousins and putting a winner during the span of that contract. (freaking duh, been saying this for awhile) Which in itself, is not a bad way to view things, but this is a realization the team should have come to before the 2016 draft or even when Vlade was installed as the new GM. Vlade tried to hedge the team in two directions and it created the mess the team is in now

2. Any potential trade partners felt it would be near impossible to get a Cousins extension this summer and knew he would likely test 2018 UFA. Why wouldn't he? He'll likely have his pick of 15+ teams interested in his services. So teams sent low-ball offers for Cousins with the contingency that they would have to convince him to resign as a UFA.

3. Instead of sticking to their guns and the "plan" of the last 3 years, Vlade and Vivek likely took the best of the offers rather than counter-negotiating and finding at the very least an acceptable deal. Or waiting to the off-season before the draft. Or just saying "Nothing is out there, let's move forward with Boogie."

Very happy to say I haven't paid for a game in years. Ill be continuing to support my team only if I get free tickets. Oh yeah, I bought a sierra nevada at both games I went to this season. Thats all the money vivek has or will get from me.

I don't know if there is any coming back from this for me. This is the worst trade I have ever seen in the history of the NBA. The best big man in the league for Buddy f**king Hield and a protected 1st rounder? WTF waa Vlade smoking. If Vivek was forcing him into it then he should have had some integrity and stepped down.

I was 100% against trading Boogie, but if you're going to trade him, you have to get a massive haul of young talent and MULTIPLE unprotected 1st rounders. This is honestly insane.

I feel bad for Cuz who has been so loyal, and all my fellow Kings fans. We don't deserve this. I am taking a break and after following the Kings since I was a young kid, I really don't know if I will be back.

Vivek now has created a situation where many of the most loyal fans will not only abandon the team, but will actively go out of their way to make fun of them.

There could be a minority owner coup brewing. That would be the only thing that would bring fans back. They would need to see Vivek be publicly ritually humiliated in order to justify coming back to the team. There is pretty interesting group psychology going on here. Which, really, is what sports are.

Since I have nothing else better to do, I've been surfing other teams forums. No other fan base is torching us like the raptors. My god. I can't post half of their thoughts on vlade and vivek here. They posted a hilarious twitter post featuring the kings logo that would probably be a ban-a-ble offense here.

Pretty much my sentiments, friend.

In a perfect world, I hope Vivek and Vlade wake up in the morning and see everyone laughing at them for what they did and come to the stinging realization that they are the joke of the NBA.

I am calling it now: this is going to be an impossible PR blinder for Vivek to recover from.

If for any reason he addresses the crowd at G1, expect a TORRENT of boos. It's not going to be pretty.

We tolerated him after his come to Jesus moment and hiring of Vlade. Turns out that was all a ruse. Kings fans willl not forgive this.

The years more of losing we're in for are only going to make it worse.

Yeah but there is no co in back from this now. Damage is done. Even if the trade was somehow cancelled, Cousins was just publicly betrayed. He'd never resign with us. In fact he'd probably go sign with NOLA and go win a title just to prove a point. He and Tyreke.

I would be more than shocked if he makes any such address to the fans. He might be stupid when it comes to the NBA but I'm betting he's not THAT stupid. That being said, I would pay to see it.

The Nuggets got more first-round picks for Timofey Mozgov than the Kings got for DeMarcus Cousins.

It disturbs me that knowledgeable fans are the butt of this joke. All season long we have laughed at seemingly ignorant Cousins trade rumors: "no way, he said he will resign with the Kings!", "that's ridiculous, Vlade said there will be no trade!"

And now all of a sudden all the ignorant rumors are in retrospect justified, because we made a trade that is far worse than any of them. The rumormongers were right, and too many fans were wrong in trusting the competence and common sense of this front office.

Not only are this team's owners and managers idiots, they make everyone who believed in them feel like an idiot, too.

Oh trust me. I know full well what's done is done. I just would feel better for myself if I knew that both Vivek and Vlade knew just how badly they screwed up.

Let me put this another way:

We just gave away the most in-demand, realistically obtainable asset in the NBA, a sure fire first ballot HOFer, just entering the prime of his career.... in a salary dump.
