Only DeMarcus Cousins trade rumor thread

I'm still sick. I'm not gonna get over this any time soon. & I'll never root against Boogie.

But I know I'm going to be back. I'm going to grind my teeth. I'm going to listen to Napear gloat and be a ****** for the foreseeable future.

I'll stick around for that one moment when Boogie is in the playoffs and the Kings are a perennial 15 win team and Grant Napear says "I was wrong."
You mean like when Grant was gloating about how Carl Landry was going to change the culture of this team when Kevin Martin was traded? When has Grant ever admitted he was wrong?

Word is that Cousins agents were telling folks he wouldn't re sign with any team that traded for him this summer, which might have hampered price (Stein)
That's because he wholeheartedly wanted to stay in Sac. Money wise yes, but more so emotionally.

Vivek is not showing much emotional intelligence, and sports, as a business, is an emotional product. I don't think he realizes the damage he had done, and this does, to the brand. A lot of callers to Dave's show are not just unhappy, they are done as fans. Season ticket holders, done. Yes the angry people are louder, but still.

This isn't the Webber trade. This is completely different. This is the worst trade in possibly the last 20 years. Of the league. And you've just created a player that wants to make it go down as the worst trade in the history of sports. I, for one, am rooting for him to do that. And the Malone firing was called the worst coaching firing in recent memory.

The Kings are becoming a product that people do not want to invest emotional energy into. I don't think Vivek gets that.

There was just a caller that said he had a family member who used to work for the Kings, but quit, because, according to the caller, Vivek was "all up in their business". This is beginning to reek of dysfunction.

When fans feel betrayed like this (which is different that mere incompetence, or being "lovable losers") the only way they can express that is with their wallets. Vivek is doing an incredible job at destroying the fan culture.

The thing about Kings fans' loyalty, is that it goes both ways. We also have a long memory. If you mess with us, and we turn on you, we won't forget. What I can see happening is a sudden, and massive, fan revolt. Vivek is hugely under estimating the building feeling of frustration and resentment brewing. Bear with me here, but it's similar to the political climate. If you are out of touch, you won't see the revolt coming and it will shock you.

I could be wrong, but I have a feeling there will be a BIG decline in season tickets sold. I can see a tipping point where being a Kings fan will become uncool, and you'll look like a sucker for continuing to support and throw money at the team.

Any thoughts on the new rotation?
Honestly, no.

I mean, for one, we've basically tanked the season. Wins and losses no longer matter, and who plays when is anybody's guess. And, given that the trade deadline is still several days away, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see another shoe, or two, or three drop before all is said and done. I really don't think that anybody on this team with more than 1.5 years' NBA experience is sure to be on the team next week, with the possible exception of Temple. All vets are on the table. Until we know who's here and who's not...not much use in speculating.

I am sure anyone who still bothers to go to the game will have no trouble notice how nice looking the new arena is since it will probably be 2/3 empty every game.

Our depth chart gives the 17-win Natt-squad a run for its money for the title of worst team in franchise history.

Kosta/Willie/Papa
Tolliver/Skal
Barnes/Afflalo
Hield/Ben/Temple/Malachi/Reke/Galloway/Bogdan
DC(probably traded soon)/Ty

If Joerger wins more than three games with this squad, just give him Coach of the Year.
i predict DC, TY, Tolliver, Kosta, Ben will be traded.

The line up will be

Papa/Incoming Trade
Willie/Skal
Incoming Trade
Hield/Malachi
Cousins/Incoming Trade

I'm really upset but happy for cuz bc he will be away from a stupid franchise. Vivek/Grant

I'm not gonna lump vlade in there yet. We don't know whats going to happen. We lost the best big man in the league hitting his prime. That's like washington giving us Cwebb.

I have noticed a few people say this means Collison is likely traded soon. Perhaps but what is the reasoning? Is Tyreke playing PG or getting waived.

I like winning and all but... I just really, really, really, wanted to win with him. And I suspect he really, really, really wanted to win with us. Even a first round exit, to be blasphemous. I just feel that there's something more than just winning.

There's a few rumors that Reke is getting waived.

People are saying that Collison is probably getting traded soon because we basically have no use for him anymore. The Kings are purely tanking for a draft pick now. Collison will be a FA at the end of the season, so the Kings will probably try to get something back for him... or risk losing him to nothing. Trading Collison will help us tank even further.

There is a possibility that the market for DMC was really that low due to his behavior.
Then you don't trade him. Period. Despite whatever baggage the GM/Ownership felt he had, he was still far more valuable to the franchise than what they received in return for him.

But I call shenanigans anyway because a guy with low value doesn't have team after team ringing the phone trying to obtain him. Slim is spot on. Vlade is in over his head and got taken to the woodshed by more experienced GM's.

If they were dead set on trading Cousins, they simply HAD to get more in return. Not even 1 all-star level talent came back -- for inarguably a top 3 big man and top 15 player in the league. They had plenty of time. He wasn't a FA until after next season. There's zero chance that they couldn't have done better than this deal. ZERO.

Great job trading the only watchable player on the team for players nobody cares about and that won't help the franchise improve. The 2017 draft pick is a throw away given the current front office and GM's track record and Buddy Hield is at best a role player should he even pan out.

Everyone on this board knows I am a staunch Cousins supporter and steadfast against trading him. That said, I could be somewhat ok with it if they at least netted something in return to get excited about. However, there is NOTHING to be excited about.

Brick, myself, Hammer and a few others cautioned the Boogie haters to be careful what you wished for. You underestimated how naive, inept, clueless and ridiculous this ownership and the front office really are. This wasn't a trade, this was a fleecing. Grand larceny.

Cousins didn't hire 9 coaches since 2006. Cousins didn't botch pretty much every 1st round pick since 2011. Cousins didn't trade Isaiah Thomas for nothing in return. Cousins didn't trade for blackhole Rudy Gay and immediately improve the Toronto Raptors. People incorrectly place blame on Cousins for the lack of winning when all of the above are the true reasons and predominately brought to you by current ownership.

Let's also not forget this franchise misled Rudy Gay about the future of Michael Malone in order to re-sign him then fired the coach and now lied to DeMarcus Cousins and his agent about their intention to trade him. They have zero credibility! This is a turncoat franchise. The ONE solitary player that showed any loyalty and commitment whatsoever to a team/group/owner that really didn't deserve it -- and who happened to be among the best talents in the NBA -- now gets shipped out for pennies? Who in the hell would want to voluntarily play or stay with this franchise after this? They just changed culture for the worse.

Like Isaiah Thomas, Cousins will find success elsewhere. And like Isaiah Thomas' departure, the Kings will not flourish or improve with Boogie departure. The real constant is bad ownership and extremely poor decision making by the various GM's. Until any of that changes, nothing will change.

Can the Sacramento Kings trade Vivek Ranadive & Vlade Divac for nothing in return? At least THAT would be a good trade!

We could only be so lucky, the problem is Darren is probably traded so we get the classic Nuggz sandwich with Ty f'n Lawson at PG and Kosta "WTF?" Koufos at C.

So, is anyone ready for this week when Vivek pulls off his mask to reveal he was George Maloof the whole time?

Vivek is such a stubborn fellow. My bet is that his biggest success as a Warriors part owner was advocating for Klay Thompson pick. And moment he got his own franchise, he kept doing same thing over and over again. He was looking for the next Klay Thompson. So first there was Ben, then Nik, and now he finally jizzed his pants with a chance to get Buddy Heild. And all throughout his madness, Demarcus was the insane guy with people pointing fingers at.

This is the end of the straw for me. I hope the Pels gets to the playoffs and smash the thosse tiny Warriors which would domino into the league going back to a big man game again while this little Ranadive stuck in his hamster wheel to finally draft his own Klay Thompson clone.

This could be my last post. So many great characters in this forum and I hope guys find your own peace after this. This is probably it for me. Adios and please don't sensor this. FARK YOU VIVEK!
