I agree. I am bewildered at how good of a job he could do with a team that has talent. I wonder how many of the Kings players would start or get 30 minutes per night on a perennial playoff team in the NBA? 2-3 on the whole roster?
30 minutes? Uhm Cousins. That's it.
DC played 25 MPG for the Clippers, but only because they played a lot of double PG lineups. And DC is clearly our second best and most established player right now.

Fourth year NBA player Ben McLemore is the same age as young exciting Pelicans rookie Buddy Hield (23) so maybe we should have cooled it with the B-Mac is a bust talk a bit. He and Willie have reaped the benefits of finally having a competent coaching staff.
This is such a key fact. Ben has finally gotten in the weight room and gotten stronger, his shooting form was always great but now with balance and strength behind it he has taken it to another level.

Its only a couple of games so will see if he can keep this up once we start playing more of the premier guards in the league.

He also added a floater to his offensive arsenal. He hasn't been able to actually put the ball into the basket with it, but at least he can perform the shooting motion of a floater by now. Baby steps....;)

Playoffs or not it is sooo nice to finally have a real NBA level coach. Amazing what happens when you play to your players strengths and not force them into anything they can't do. I like how he has taken pressure off of Willie and Ben and just told them to be themselves and not play scared, just needs to do the same with Richardson.

After the Bulls game he took the blame for the bad play call and fixed it as soon as he got another chance (Hawks game)....Been a while since we have had a coach who is ready and willing to fix things ASAP.

I think the game without Cousins or another scorer gave Collison the confidence to shoot more and not having Ty there has helped him be more free. He has also been a little quicker with his decisions although I would like to see him work on pounding the ball even less. But more than anything he has stepped it up defensively especially late in games.

Good win.

Positiveness of Ben continuing his upswing somewhat.

Beat LA then let's roll into Oakland and put some doubt in these fickle warrior fans minds because we are coming for that postseason seed and we absolutely are a nightmare for them.
I would have liked to see him get more shots, particularly in the third he had hit a couple of threes in a row and we completely stopped looking for him. I think right now you have to treat Ben as your third scoring option behind Cuz/Collison. Get him at least 10-13 shots a game.

I almost wonder if you want to go to LA and get the win and have Cousins pick up a tech to "sit" him out vs Warriors and have clean slate after all star break.

Warriors is a completely winnable game. Besides the league should reconsider his latest tech so he should have a clean slate in any case

I highly doubt the league reconsiders this T. This is one thing they called consistently this season. You hit your opponent in the face - you get a T. Pathetic but consistent.
All you can ask for is consistency. The premise of giving in to Randall et al and shipping the warriors game when we are aiming to match up to them in the post season is simply unsavory and defeatist.

We are now 7-7 since Rudy went down. That includes the screw job in Chicago and bad losses that we had at Indiana, at Philly vs Phx and vs Chicago again. Could easily have been 12-2.
And on the season as a whole, they are 12-12 without Rudy Gay. The Kings are .500 with Cousins, DC and role players (with Lawson on the fence of role player/starter). If a couple of these young guys continue to step up (WCS, Ben (hope I don't jinx it, but he is looking like he may be starting to put some things together)), and the Kings ever got a real second fiddle for Cuz, this team could be above average.

Barnes is shooting 40% from 3 this month so far, which is a drastic improvement over January (30%). Maybe his body is feeling better, and/or he will regress after the All Star break.

You're kidding right? We're a week removed from shutting down the hype show. You can put it down to whatever but it's a winnable game
Shut them down? We won by 3 in OT. Prior to that game, we lost 13 straight to them and lost each game by an average of 21 points in the games played at Golden State.

If the league was not going to rescind the pushing incident in which the Bulls assistant coach initiated the contact, there is no way they will rescind this one. I watched the replay a couple of times, and as far as I could see Boogie grabbed D-Mo. He wrapped his arms around to inhibit his ability to move. That's a foul on Boogie. Then he loses balance and flails his arms with the backhand to the face. You can say that was incidental contact, but flailing your arms above shoulder level is a no-no. It is something that can be avoided. And it suggests you have a general idea of where your opponent is and want to land an "accidental" blow. I would be shocked if the technical is rescinded.

One of the reasons Barnes has improved is because opponents leave that chronic bricklayer open and dare him to make it. :) If he continues to hit at a respectable rate, he will garner more attention, but for now teams often use his defender to send extra help towards Boogie.

I think Cuz is a master at making contact look inadvertent. He needs to stop that childish crap and just play. He literally could be a hall of fame player if he just didn't concern himself with how refs called games.

My prediction for SAC vs. the Hype Show is Boogie gets another T and gets suspended the next night vs DEN. Draymond Green gets him amped up. Playing in Oakland gets him amped up. Being on the court as the "third Splash Brother" amps him up. We can't afford to have him miss game vs DEN because of their bigs, but odds are better than 50/50 he will be unable to contain himself.

KD had one of the worst shooting games of his career and our defensive structure limited the Warriors offense. We cause them problems.

you call it 13 straight. I call it a season split which sits at 1-1.

Me, too. But I disagree, this team has talent beyond Cuz. It's been a common observation on here that we have no talent beyond Cuz. I think we have lots of talent up and down the roster. Of course we could always use more or greater talnt. Please don't throw out the talent we have until we clearly get better talent. "No talent" just doesn't fly wth me.

i wouldnt say that your prediction is far fetched or baseless. It could easily swing this way. Hell golden state will be doing all they can to swing it with him getting T'd up.

This is the battle with in the battle.

Which is again why when Adam Silver received that conference call this morning from Vlade, Vivek, Cuz's agent, and Michelle Roberts, that the results will be interesting.

There's a difference between impossible and improbable. You can't deny, that Kings CAN win that game in its entirity, which makes it a "completely winnable game"! :D
The biggest thing the Kings might have going there, as far as any sort of real chance, is the possibility half the Warriors roster will have one foot out the door ready for the ASG and break.

If that turns out not to be true...hey, it was always a schedule loss. You don't even bother calculating those games normally, just start your team off with a certain number of losses to begin the season, then see if they can play far enough over .500 against everybody else.

its all mentality. last season and into the start of this one, the locker room, most likely would look at you and laugh if you suggested we'd take down the warriors.

This season, there's a sense of change in the air. A steely resolve that's taken oven, driven by incessant madness, a disposition towards being unfairly judged, a coming together of teammates and the drive which comes from a want to change
