This is a HUGE game for us. During the past 3 years, we've had stretches where we would play really good basketball but we would always lose a game like this and it would derail us back into the losing habits. If we can get this one, I feel like we might break through and keep this thing rolling the rest of the year.
Agree. We need this one.

Not necessarily. A lot of times, teams will play it safe the 1st year a player returns from a major injury. This is true for baseball players too.

The minutes and back to back game restrictions may be taken off after 1-2 years of showing he is healthy.

Of course everyone is different and I'm sure how his knee feels in the coming years will dictate his minutes, after this year.
It was a broken foot injury that kept Embiid out the first 2 years. I'll say this, I hope that he can stay healthy because he is talented. Though it is hard to be optimistic for big men with multiple broken foot injuries.

Looking at guys like Yao who had foot problems, if they managed his minutes and activity on the court better AND if he didn't have to play for the Chinese national team every off season since he was 15, he could've probably played 3-4 more years in the NBA.

I see you point, but I would rather manage a player's minutes better instead of finding out when he'll reach his threshold.

This is the thing I don't get when people are out there talking up the Sixers. They are one injury away from sucking real bad. Embiid us good, real good BUT he has history of serious injury and it is worrisome that you have to manage him and play him on minute restriction at the age of 24. His best is elite and so Sixers go as far as Embiid takes them. For all the talk about how Sixers have rebuilt well, they are one injury to Embiid away from being a really bad lottery team.
The Sixers just won 2 of three without Embiid. If they win tonight I think they'll be just a game back of Sacramento. And Simmons is slated to return sometime after the all-star game. They could potentially be in a position to use that pick swap this year. Even if Embiid goes down they have far more assets to rebuild with than the Kings.

If the process is/was so great why did they fire the Architect of it all? Should Hinkie be in the running for GM of the year even though he got fired? Why do all the 6ers first round picks get injured?
The only pick (AFAIK) that got injured after the Sixers drafted him was Simmons.

Noel & Embiid were injured before the draft. It's why they fell to the 76ers in the first place and why Cleveland and Milwaukee passed on a generational talent in favor of Wiggins & Parker.

As for Hinkie - ownership lost patience with all the losing. But Philadelphia is set up tremendously going forward and that is all due to Hinkie. It's why Sixers fans chant "Trust the Process". They are finally seeing a major turnaround on the horizon. As a fan, I'm jealous.

Okafor and Noel have both had good games this season in Embiid's absences.

Many believe the league had no small part in showing Hinkie the door when they helped place the Colangelo's within the organization. The tank-a-thon was wearing on the league.
