I was feeling really good about cousins staying after the new CBA was announced but man it's gonna be more interesting or stressful moving forward than I thought

The worst part is... I'm just completely numb to it. Both the awful injury news and the total collapse.

I'm not mad. I'm not upset. It's just expected.

Well get ready my friend, because it isn't changing until there is major shakeup.

So what the hell do we do now? Just suffer and watch more horrible basketball the rest of the year?
or you can invest your quality time in finding another team to root for, plenty of teams out there with youth that are fun to watch, pick one. If that doesn't suite you, do some serious TV show hunting, lots of quality options to pick from.

What if the Kings going into free fall and 76ers finish out of the Bottom 10, then swap their pick with ours....and so our pick is 11th or 12th hypothetically, would we have to convey it to Chicago?

Or...how about being unhappy and demanding better? This is Sacramento's team! Vivek might own it but he lives off of us buying tickets and going to games.

First off, this is terrible news for Rudy and for a guy who gave a lot to the Kings, hate to see him probably go out like this.

To your comment ---Yes you are 100% spot on. Our GM has NO IDEA what he is doing. Other teams hate talking to him about trades because he is CLUELESS. Why do you think a deal never gets done for any player we are trying to trade? Life of a Kings Fan as it just keeps on giving from one ownership group to another
Don't forget about Vivek who is a huge Rudy fan and reportedly insisted he could convince Rudy to stay. I don't think we'll ever be good as long as he meddles. He's as bad as Jed York.

I really think we have to take a hard look at trading Cousins. This team is not going to be good for a long time and its just better for both parties to part ways. I know he says he wants to be here, but you can just see the life being sucked out of him out there. Get him somehwere where he can compete and give us a full reset.

The whole FO is a mirror image of the 49ers FO. The only problem is the 49ers FO actually won at one point.

To be fair, Rudy'll probably have to sign a one year contract with us this offseason as he recovers from one of the worst injuries an athlete can get.

I hope they dont think losing rudy is the reason why the season is lost, we were well on our way to lotto before that happend.
Losing Rudy is why we lost *THIS* game. Clearly the guys were gutted after seeing what happened.

It really wouldn't shock me to see the team play slightly better without Rudy though. They've already proved they can play better team ball without him, and with him guaranteed to be out for the season the team will grow together.

Will the they be .500 and fight for the playoffs? Hell no. But losing Rudy doesn't mean they're a 5 win team through the rest of the season.

OH MY GAWD!!! I didn't even consider he would opt in!!!!! Wow great horribly sad point on ur part
Yes, he will be opting in at this point and that is exactly what guaranteed contracts are for.

However let's NOT be all doom and gloom about this. I am assuming the worst about the injury, but I am not assuming the worst possible outcome for the Kings. It will hurt the cap room next year.

There are some positives. First, we may actually get better without Rudy. Much as I love the guy. My eye test tells me it just wasn't working out. We are still very much in the hunt for 8th seed.

This accelerates the team developing chemistry without Rudy, and opens room to play some younger players and guys we hope to keep around. If, like Joerger said, the first half was about using analytics to see who we wanted to go forward with, we can be sure Rudy did not make that cut. We can also be sure other guys did. We will now be playing those other guys.

This is unfortunate, and I feel for Rudy, but this is likely the last time we see him in a Kings uni. I expect we trade his expiring deal next year. Which is another plus. A 14mil expiring contract is nothing to sneeze at. To be honest, and this may sound harsh, but we may be able to get more out of him as an expiring contract than now, especially a guy that probably won't be expecting minutes. We obviously had been trying with no luck.

Cheer up all. The sky is not falling. Only lots of rain.
