I shared those same thoughts in my mind after that loss. Maybe they tie their franchise record in three pointers made? It's 18 or 19 from what I recall.
Yeah that would probably be a safe bet, especially considering that Korver usually lights us up and we send out formal invites to launch from beyond the arc.

Dear Mr Korver,

Having reviewed your reputation as an outstanding 3 point shooter, we are delighted to invite you to our game on 13 January 2017, where we will attempt to set an NBA record for 3 pointers allowed in a single game. Kindly RSVP at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,
Your Sacramento Kings

Malcolm Brogdan is my new favorite player he has quiet a bit of Andre Miller in his game in terms of poise/body shape while he's not the playmaker he's very crafty and a above average defender already with a sweet stroke dude looks like a starting PG for the Bucks for years to come.
I liked Brogdon at Virginia, but I didn't like him as a prospect(in top 25). Not only was he a SR, but he was also pretty old at 23yrsold, turning 24 at the end of the year. Lacked athleticism for a SG, with just meh quickness. However, he was a decent ball handler and good passer with high ball IQ. I felt like he was suited to be more of a role player. So far, he's proving me wrong.

Despite already being 24, he's made big strides and improvements to his game. Went from being an average ball handling SG to an average PG. 1 entire position up. Despite his lack of athleticism, he has no trouble carving defenses and getting to the rim if needed.
Maybe I held age too much against him?

Kinda wild theory, I feel like elite athleticism and quickness for guards isn't a "necessity" in the current NBA right now. Due to the emergence of the 3pt shot along with a faster pace, we see "lazy" defense. The floor is spread out a lot more, which caters PGs.

Larry Bird's busy offseason has had mixed results for all involved.
What the Pacers did on paper was actually pretty good....and their team on paper, looks really good.
  • Trade an average starting PG for an above average starting PG. Teague gave them less defense, but more scoring and playmaking.
  • Trade 2oth pick for Thad Young. Young was a really consistent player for the Nets. Really diverse scorer who could rebound. Solid starting PF. Young would help increase the Pacers' scoring, and decrease the pressure from PG13.
  • Signing Al Jeff. Good bench scorer
  • Letting an over-paid Solomon Hill leave
Offseason: Jeff Teague, Thad Young, and All Jefferson
Starters:Paul George, Myles Turner, and Monta Ellis.
Bench: CJ Miles, Rodney Stuckey, Aaron Brooks, Glen Robinson 3, and Lavoy Allen.

In theory, that team should be clear 4th seed. In reality, they're not.. Maybe it's a chemistry issue right now? They have won 4 of their last 5. Strange situation.

I also feel like Paul George hasn't elevated his game to the next level yet. I mean, just look at this year with guys roughly around his age: Westbrook, Harden, Cousins, Thomas, DeRozan, and Butler have ALL elevated their game to the next level to near Superstar level. He's kinda left us hanging from 2013. I know injuries could be a big part of it, but we have yet to really see playoff Paul George in the regular season.

I think people really underrated how important strength is when talking about athletic ability (which is imo why Ben Mclemore/Derrick Williams partly failed despite "elite athletes") the guy is arguably the 2nd/3rd strongest PG in the NBA after Marcus Smart/Westbrook and has a very decent first step when combined with his strength makes him at times a deadly driver and allows him to bump guys going to the rim. I never watched Brogdan in college the first time I saw him was in clips of the Team USA select team and was immediately intrigue cause he reminded me off Dre.

Defensively in some ways he's like Cousins who despite not being a explosive athlete has instincts and just ridiculous strength (there's maybe 2-3 guy in the NBA who can back him down) that when guys hit into his chest it's a brick wall you can't move them.

I will say there have been other 4/5 year players who came into the NBA and had very solid first seasons than faded badly the most recent one I can remember is Landry Fields who's first season was unreal for a unknown 9.7ppg on nearly 50% FG 40% 3pt and 6.7rpg statistically I read a while back that these guys drafted don't last very long in the NBA but I think Brogdan barring injury is a bit different but I think him going in the 2nd round was the right thing due to his age it is something statistaclly speaking you should hold against players and off course there is always potential outliers.

I agree on paper they looked beast coming into the season(I thought they would be top 3-4 in the East) but letting the three Hills/Mahemi (career year both ways) go really downgraded there defense and they got a lot of guys where the ball sticks in there hands. Stuckey when healthy last season also probably played in terms of impact the best ball of his career.

I would also argue George Hill just based on his impact the moment he got to both Indiana/Utah is more than a average PG

Working theory: Monta Ellis is the "Rudy Gay" of guards.

Every single time the Jazz look like they are building into a force they loss a key player to injury Hood looked to have hyper-extend his knee the same game Alec Burks looked really good. If the Jazz can get fully healthy come playoffs they are 100% a team you don't want to face with there physical style and now having Hayward/Favors/Hill/Burks/Hood (health permitting) who can all go for 20 and a ton of tough/crafty vets they can seriously wear down some of the contenders similar to Memphis although I think Utah has way more fire power and overall talent. There squad is very well built for the playoffs similar to that Pistons team imo that won the whole thing.

Devin Booker youngest player in NBA history to have back to back 39+ point games including 28 in one quarter and he did it on ridiculous efficiency.

The Wizards after a 2-8 start have quietly snuck there way into the playoff picture and are now over 500.

They also have a 12 game win streak at home. Wall is playing on a superstar level this season, he is making his three's at a nice clip. Beal is staying healthy so far and Porter & Morris have been nice complimentary pieces around the two. Their bench still needs some work, it's pitiful.
