Thought this was important enough to make a new thread. Rome will be talking about our team and talking to our guys throughout his show, if anyones interested.

I've never really been a big fan of Jim Rome. However, I am still very interested in knowing what the Kings discussions all entail. So, a nice summary from someone would greatly be appreciated, especially since I do not live in the Sacramento area at the moment...

a lot of reminicing on the good old days. Got some pretty good stories from vlade and peja. Vlade was asked about any potential trades but gave the expected vanilla answers. Peja went into how hard it was to be a young kid knowing little to no english and not playing much when he first got here.

Rome talked about his previous stops in sacramento when 17,000 people sold out arco to listen to "some idiot with a microphone".

Grant came on and told some really good behind the scenes kings stories. Of course rome asked him about his hatred of motorcycles on the basketball court and his love of the NY Giants. Grant also talked about how much he loves the new arena and how much the city went through to get it. Grant also talked about how hard it was doing Raider games because he was expected to be positive even when there was nothing to be positive about. Said thats why he loves the kings, he has never been told what to say.

Grant is a completely different host when doing a national show. I Can't stand grants local show but love him when he fills in nationally.

I listened to Rome's show today. It was very, very cool. Loved that SacTown hijacked the show for an entire day. Also, good to hear from Urijah Faber too, though I thought we'd get a Kings player or two. Just Vlade and Peja and Grant. Not sure why they couldn't get Matt Barnes or a player that's been on Rome's show in the past.

I found it interesting that when Rome asked Vlade if he would ever consider trading Cousins, he said that when the Lakers traded him, he thought it was one of the worse trades in Laker history. But, he said, when you look back on it and see they got Kobe Bryant out of that deal, it turned out to be very smart trade. So the answer is, if you think you can help the team with a trade, then you have to consider it.

I believe this is the first time Vlade had said he would consider trading Cousins. He went on to say, that sometimes it's the best thing for both party's. He said he hated leaving the Lakers, but it led to his eventual signing with the Kings, and the best years of his career. So it turned out to be a good deal for both the Lakers, and himself.

I don't think you can ever be closed minded to the point of believing that any player is untradable. Some players are so talented and good that it's rare that anybody would pay the price (in terms of trade) to acquire them. But it's always possible. Look at the kings ransom the Minnesota Vikings paid to get Hershel Walker back in the day.

LeBron James is still arguably the best all-around player in the NBA. If the Warriors offered Steph Curry and Draymond Green for him, suddenly he looks less untradable. Obviously that scenario would never happen, but the point remains that everyone can be traded so long as there's a team willing to trade away the immense assets needed to get it done.

With regard to Vlade ever trading DeMarcus, it's always a possibility if a team was willing to trade the farm for him or if the day comes where he plans on leaving Sacramento and they need to get something in return for him. Beyond those 2 possibilities, I don't see it happening. But you still have to be open to it.
