Official how many wins will the Kings have in the 2016-2017 season

The West is deep in terms of teams you could argue can make a run at the eight seed. At the top the Spurs and Thunder should be worse, Spurs less so but still can't see them getting 60 wins. Clippers will probably be the 2nd seed due to just staying the same. Blazers could make a leap and become a 50 win team. Rest of West can fall anywhere from 30-45 wins and you wouldn't be too surprises aside from Suns and Lakers(who both themselves should be better but still in 25-29 win territory). What I think this means is that there will be more winnable games to be had night in and night out, but there will be no easy games this year. There probably won't be huge win streaks aside from Warriors, maybe Clippers and Spurs.

I like threads like these. They get me even more excited for the season because it reminds me we haven't had time to be disappointed yet and there is still hope to be surprised with a good year!

If Ty Lawson goes back to being 2012-2013 Lawson and Cousins goes without silly suspensions/niggling injuries than I'd say over 41 if not (which i'm strongly leaning towards) under in the middle to low 30's.

Agree with you. The PG position is really what lowers my optimism. Im not quite sure Lawson can replace Collisons production (Collison is already out 8 games + he usually misses some games because of injuries) and while I really like Temple I don't think he should be playing point guard. So I say 37 wins.

I was gonna guess 40 as well, +/- around 3 games.

Not having DC off the bat will hurt, and our roster doesn't exactly pop with talent, but Cuz + defense should = wins.

At the very least, I think next season will be foundation building, as opposed to another lost year leading to yet another reset.

I'm gonna go with 42. Like some others have mentioned, we had the worst defense in the league last year and still won 33 games. If we didn't fall apart after the all-star break I think we would have been right in the race for the 8th seed. Think about it for a second guys, the team has not had a defensive practice since Malone was here. That's like 2 damn years!

42 wins and a playoff appearance where we push the GSW to 5 games.

I mean last year we won 33 games with the absolute WORSE dead last defense in the NBA. I am hoping that Joerger will help in that category, and with a more stable season it will translate to at least 5 more wins.
Yea, this is believable too. We basically went net neutral on talent from last year, but a quality coach and more defensively inclined players (Barnes, Temple, WCS year 2, etc) should help us get around 5 extra wins or so.

41 wins. We won 33 games least season and the team gave up on Karl. I expect this team to start slow (new coach, DC suspension) but get better and better asoon the season progesses.

This team is considerably more talented than the team that got off to the hot start for Mike Malone 2 years ago. Both teams had Cousins/Gay/Collison, but that was basically ALL that 2014-15 team had. The remaining roster for them was:

Ben McLemore, starter
Jason Thompson, starter
Omri Casspi
Reggie Evans
Ryan Hollins
Carl Landry
Ray McCallum
Derrick Willams
Ramon Sessions --->traded for--->Andre Miller
Nik Stauskas (fail)
Eric Moreland
Davis Stockton
David Wear
Quincy Miller

this team is likely to go

Arron Afflalo, starter
Willie Cauley-Stein, starter
Omri Casspi
Kosta Koufos
Matt Barnes
Andrew Tolliver
Skal Labissierre
Garret Temple
Ben McLemore
Ty Lawson
Malachi Richardson
Georgios Papagiannis

coach and team not feuding = +5 wins
good coach teaching defense = +5 wins
not tanking at end of the seasons = +3 wins
yet another new coach/new system to be learned on the fly: -3 wins...

aiming at 40 wins and hoping to get a few more, especially if we can sniff a playoff race, is not at all unreasonable. Key: can Boogie give us 70+ games this year? or can we at least not go 3-12 in the ones he misses?

I'm going to go with 44 wins. Most optimistic I've been in a while. We accidently won 32 games last season with everything in total chaos. With everyone on the same page and a no nonsense defensive coach, I think 44 wins is a reasonable goal. Don't know if that gets you into the playoffs or not, but it might be enough to keep Cousins on board.
