    [NBA] East Playoffs, Round Two

Even if that was technically a moving screen, Donte sure did a lot of work in selling it to get the call. I don't know what the line is between a flop and selling the call but he didn't pirouette and fall to the floor from contact there -- he did that part on his own.

[KINGS] Comments that don't warrant their own thread (Redux)

I think what @pdxKingsFan is getting at is that we have an advanced stat here which is at least somewhat reputable among advanced stats enthusiasts and it appears to show that the Kings were ranked #1 in the Western Conference. How then did they finish with the 9th best record in the conference...

    [NBA] West Playoffs, Round One

And yet somehow teams with playoff aspirations keep trading for him / signing him anyway for his veteran presence. His new nickname should be Sleeper Cell.

    [NBA] East Playoffs, Round One

I tore my meniscus playing softball on fake grass about 10 years ago and it took 2-3 years for me to fully recover from that injury. There was a point in time at which I didn't think I would ever fully recover. Granted I did not get surgery so my recovery time was going to be longer than a...

    [NBA] West Playoffs, Round One

All these articles are coming out now to explain why the Phoenix big three didn't work... Anyone can identify failure after the fact. Most of these same writers had them penciled in for multiple championships as soon as they picked up KD.

[NBA] Comments that don't warrant a thread (APR)

I don't know if this comment will age well. There's nothing impressive about beating the Bucks without Giannis and Dame and the Pacers are going to have to pay that much to keep Siakam this summer only he's 30 years instead of 25. Ayton has regressed the last two years but in an alternate world...

    NFL 2023-2024 Thread

I like this plan. At least take one more shot at a Super Bowl win before breaking up the dynamic receiving duo. I always like to see a USC guy coming to the Niners in the draft, And I love that Lynch and Shanahan drafted two offensive linemen this year! Hopefully Jarrett Kingston is more of a...

    [NBA] West Playoffs, Round One

I feel like a dufus now for picking Phoenix to win their series... Perhaps when Phoenix lost a 6 game NBA Finals series in 2021 with three starters under the age of 25 and a HoF veteran point guard running the offense and then came back the next season and finished with the best regular season...

    NFL 2023-2024 Thread

Yeah, I think so. Kyle likes having a homerun back on the sideline who can get him a big chunk of yards on one play. It feeds into his chess match play-calling style. Also, based on his Niners tenure, he likes getting them in the draft and then letting them go before they get expensive...

    KING IN ARABIC

Monk losing out on the Sixth Man award by the smallest margin in the history of the current voting format is emblematic of how this whole Kings season has gone. Hopefully this isn't how his stay in Sacramento ends. He's as important to the team culture as anyone else in that locker room, coach...

    Following Potential *2024* Draftees

I believe what you're recalling is that the MLB draft used to be held a week or two before the college world series so it was not uncommon to see drafted players still competing for their college teams for that event. It looks like this years draft is in July though, so that will no longer be...

    Potential Free agent/trade/sign tracker

Wow, it's that bad is it? Lose a game to the Pelicans and suddenly our whole future is over? I got nothing for you then. Might as well fire the coach, trade Fox, and go back to praying for lottery balls I guess? I don't seem to be getting anywhere trying to provide a counterpoint so maybe I'll...

    Potential Free agent/trade/sign tracker

Fox and Sabonis are 26/27! They should have another 10 years left in their NBA careers at least. We haven't even won a playoff series yet and you're ready to swear off rookies contracts and go all-in on a 30 year old perennial loser instead? Can't we at least shake some more branches? There have...

    Potential Free agent/trade/sign tracker

Jerami Grant is certainly an option we could look at. I'm sure he's available if we want to make a run at trading for him. And in light of the season HB just had, I agree that we should be looking for an upgrade at his position. You just lose me at Grant being "likely the best option". If we...

    Potential Free agent/trade/sign tracker

Even despite his shortcomings, Harrison Barnes has had a better career so far than Jerami Grant. His shooting splits are better, his per game averages are better, his win shares are better. The one thing I would point to as a plus with Jerami Grant is that he used to block shots -- he's had two...
