    Following Potential *2024* Draftees

Karaban is long enough, an excellent shooter from anywhere on the floor and not negative on defense in college. That's an NBA player. His impact will be measured by how well he'll be able to defend quick forwards. Most likely Karaban is 15-20 minutes backup but maybe you can even squeeze...

Dunn is likely to become Andre Roberson. Thybulle at least can shoot corner 3 and a better passer, and he still played less in POs than in RS for Philly. He's likely an UDFA so I'm hoping Kings pick up Jonathan Mogbo from San Francisco to be Sabonis understudy. This guy progressed massively...

It's a financial decision for Grizz. Bane's extension kicks in increasing payroll by $30 mil.

Looks like they think 98.7 and 99.3 equal 100.

Kings trade rumor SZN 2023-2024 edition!

For all the impact on defensive end Thybull is extremely limited offensively: he can hit open shot, but he doesn't cut or pass. Portland needs to develop their players, so of course they will play guard, who facilitates offense, even if defense drops. On/off OffRtg/DefRtg shows that Thybull is...

    Why Isn't Sasha Playing?

Vezenkov was the best off the ball scorer in Europe. But having him camped outside waiting for ball to be kicked out is not the optimal use of his skills. Sasha moves well without the ball, but most of his scoring in Europe came from good team effort with off-the-ball screening action which...

[KINGS] Comments that don't warrant their own thread (Redux)

Tyrese went down, and Pacers still beat Celtics. Then they dealt with Wizards and handily defeated Hawks in away game. Yes, they lost in Denver - who wouldn't? And it was a tight game. Jazz blew them away but they are the hottest team since mid-December and it was 3rd game in 4 nights, all away...

Kings trade rumor SZN 2023-2024 edition!

Keon was measured at 6'3.5" without shoes, so he's 6'5" on the court. Grimes also has standing reach of only 8'4", 2" shorter than Ellis. Grimes is not a better rebounder, shooter or passer. I didn't write that Keon is better, I just don't see much of an upgrade.

Can We Show Some Love for Davion?

Statistically, he had 3 teammates that looked just as good on defense as him and that team was outside of top20 in defense. He was name DPOY without merit, and Kings bought into that narrative. Evan Mobley (clearly the best defender on top10 defensive team), Deandre Williams (arguably best...

    Keegan “KEEGAN MURRAY” Murray

I think Lyles should stay. He has excellent +/- this season (it's skewed by him not playing early in the season when Fox was out as well), had modest positive one last season and excellent in the PO series. Trey is shooting 40% from outside and solid defensively. His salary is less than 6% of...

Kings trade rumor SZN 2023-2024 edition!

Grimes is not really an upgrade over Keon, just more experienced version of. They are the same age as well. If Brown reduced Keon's time on the court to improve Davion's attractiveness in a trade, then I don't see any value.

Can We Show Some Love for Davion?

I don't like FTRate as it's currently calculated as one would rarely get to the line shooting only 3s. I much rather use FTattempted/2pFGattempted and Smart is at 54% for his career while Davion is at 17%. Getting to the line is the only way to offset lack of outside shooting. And you obviously...

    Gregory Jackson, who turned 19 a month ago, has second great game in a row off the bench for Memphis: 27 min, 7-10 2p, 2-4 3p, 20P, 2 OReb, 4 DReb, 1A, 2TO, 0st, 2bl 29 min 1-1 2p, 5-8 3p, 6-8FT, 23P, 1 Oreb, 5 DReb, 1A, 2TO, 2st, 2bl He looks exactly like the type of PF Kings need next to...

I watched UConn vs Kansas where McCullar often guarded Tristen Newton (another UConn senior with good ballhandling). Thoughts: 1. McCullar hit all the open shots and was active defensively. All his hustle stats (OReb%, Stl% and Blk%) are down this year as is his foul rate since he's obviously...

Are we going to acknowledge how bad Barnes has been?

You can't just redistribute open outside shots as you take what the opposing team gives you. And currently any competent team wants Huerter to shoot.
