[Game] Kings @ Pelicans (Play-In Tournament) - 4/19 6:30PM PDT/9:30 PM EDT

Next year’s roster construction needs to do something about the repetition in our bench. Lyles = Sasha
It was always going to be this way. Get ready, because next season it could go back to being G overload even if they trade Huerter. Monte has to start trimming down his roster a bit and this season proved yet again, depth 10-11 deep looks great on paper but in reality it means nothing. Even with injuries it's sometimes the Keon Ellis type who picks up the slack anyway.

Ingram can also leave this game with injury and I still would have low confidence simply because the Kings can’t find a way to score outside of low percentage one on one against this team. Didn’t in the 5 other games. Haven’t tonight.

Kings needed a fast start. Not just a good one. I think Pelicans would’ve folded if the Kings built a double digit lead. They had the opportunity but Keegan just terrible. Barnes bad. Bench worthless. Keon didn’t attempt a shot until near the end of the 2nd.
Keegan having a bad game. HB is not. Offense obv. discombobulated.

AND it's just 9. Take care of the ball, hit some shots, control the defensive boards.

Don't have a good feeling about this one even though 9 point is manageable. Bad from 3, bad assists turnover ratio, and no murray and even if he's back he won't be productive most likely. Will get worse in the 2nd half sad to say.

We played pretty well the first 10 minutes of the game and then yikes. Our bench absolutely let us down that half, Davion with some terrible decision making, Lyles was a ghost. Keegan’s shot looked flat and he looked legit hurt on that floor slip. Unless Fox goes supernova I’m not feeling very optimistic about our chances to win. Seemed like the Pelicans were getting the shots they wanted in that 2nd quarter too. SMH. 5-20 from 3, missed FTs. I guess being down 9 all things considered is good?

I used to think we had depth. I now realize we had Monk.
Just to note Monk has struggled against the Pelicans this year too shooting 33%. Pretty much all the catch and shoot options for the Kings have been useless this season against them. It sure would be nice to have that extra pick and roll initiator right now though.

Yikes. Mistake to log on here. Relax. Guys didn't play well in the first half. No reason to write them off for their career... It is possible to turn it around in the second half.

Lots of negativity here. Please explain to me the Kings' defensive strategy, because I can't figure it out. They played strict man-to-man until late in the second quarter, but the same guys were not always guarding the same opponent. I think three different men were on McCollum. Same for Ingram.

And yes, pass the damn rock.

Well he shot once. Our strategy was to feed Keegan and it didn’t work
Still that guy was smoking from the 3pt last few games ... he has to step in with some shoots as well when is obvious that we play 2 against all the rest
ok 2.5 cause HB step in as well (respect to him though i am one of the biggest haters of him)

TNT announcers: "Welcome to the play in, that would be a foul in regular season". Larry Nance getting the treatment just because he once was a Laker and kind of helped the Lakers move to the playoffs (with his 2 subpar performances in the last 2 matches vs the Lakers).
That pissed me off

I would be fine with the “letting them play” by not calling muggings in the paint if they didn’t turn around and call marginal bumps in the backcourt or on and 1’s.

I would like the Kings' chances better to come back from a nine-point halftime deficit against twenty-eight other teams than the Pelicans. Even the Celtics.
