[Game] Kings v. Grizzlies - Sunday, Dec. 31 - 4 PT

#91
and this falls more so on Joerger than the the players IMO, let's remember...this is Joerger's first year coaching a rebuilding team. He is used to playing vets and the few he has here, they are getting their fair share of burn. He obviously has a short leash for the players and that approach has to start changing. I see teams like the Bulls, Lakers, Nets & Hawks all playing their youth plenty of minutes and letting them play through it to boot.

It's still the platoon that will kill this team deader than dead. This would be better even if he went full veteran starters and played Hill legit minutes with Kosta, GT, and Zach because while platooning might be a slower burn, the eventual result is nuclear. I think it's better to tick off a few on your team all at once rather than wait for the whole team to turn on you.

Huh. Guess I'm not paying too close attention nowadays.
It's one of the things I notice because I get so fed up with how some of the "privileged" players get away with so much crap. It's one of the few things not even LeBron can get away with.

They just need to struggle through and put this game behind them. It's a shame Joerger can't clear the bench...but I think he's already played everybody in uniform. It shows Sampson and Cooley on the roster but I don't see them.

Okay, and that right there is why PapaG isn't ready to play more. Hands like oven mitts. Really big oven mitts...sewn together.

Okay, this is fun. And yes, I'm easily entertained at this point. At least the fans in G1C are having something to cheer about. Don't look at the scoreboard and enjoy the last few minutes of 2017 Kings basketball.

I still LOVE THIS TEAM! Warts, wrinkles, errant passes, airballs and all. They're still my Sacramento Kings!

2 minutes of bad basketball in a 30 point game is enough to declare he isn't ready for any minutes, even though in his other spot minutes he's looked more than capable?

This unit is starting to gel pretty quick. They seem to be getting some chemistry in pick and roll with Buddy playing the point. Boomer Sooner Buddy could be a really potent threat offensively for this team.

I know you like him. And I know I'm overly critical of him at times. I think the truth is somewhere in the middle of our two polar assessments. :) I'll behave.

what leads you to believe that the team is turning on Joerger?

Okay, this is about as ugly as I want to see. There's no rhythm, no flow. When even Bogs is making dumb mistakes, you have to wonder if it was something in the water? ;)

Can't blame Joerger for this one. Right now, I don't know what else he could do to try and light a fire under his players, short of actually lighting a fire.
Only thing I would blame Joerger for is that old starting lineup. I know he was trying to match Memphis' rotation, but not thrilled with Koufas, Zbo, Hill, Temple in the starting 5.
