[Grades] Grades vs. Warriors

This game illustrates for me how good of a job Vlade Divac has done in filling the roster with NBA Talent. I believe there are now 10 legitimate NBA players on our roster. For several seasons I have not been able to say that. That was part of the reason I thought Mike Malone was such a good coach is that because just a few seasons removed from his tenure, a majority of the players on that roster are not even in the league anymore!

I think this season has shown Vlade that he can now focus on trying to find a future superstar in the draft or offseason, as opposed to simply getting a roster with actual NBA players. Having so many young guys with legitimate talent creates opportunities for trades, motivation to play hard or lose your spot, and competitive practices.

It is hard to improve as a team when at practice you have Jason Thompson vs. Ryan Hollins and Ben McLemore vs. Ray McCallum. Now we have matchups like Frank vs. Fox and Bogdan vs. Buddy pushing each other So, kudos to Vlade Divac
In Vlade, We Trust.

In a quick aside. This game was televised on two stations. I watched the Warriors post game show to get their perspective. They spent 15 minutes talking about the injuries to Curry and Durant and never mentioned the Kings. Then Coach Kerr came on and talked about how the Kings made some great runs at the end of quarters and how they out played the Warriors. My respect for him went up.

The commentators for the Warriors have since changed their tune. They are now making references to the game they lost against the Kings and using it as an example of the things that are not right with the Warriors. I notice that the Warriors no longer mug for the camera and stick their tongues out all the time. There is no team I would rather beat.

During the game the GS commentators were very complimentary to the Kings. They had good things to say about the young players, coaching, and what the front office is doing.
