Welcome Vince Carter

Vince is 40. He is in great shape and has a spectacular attitiude for helping younger players in practice, on the bench, in games and in the locker room. You cannot expect him to play that many minutes night after night. If he starts it will probably kind of ceremonial.
He started last year..

In the playoffs, and was one of their more consistent playoff performers. Crazy, but true. He can do either

It was impressive to see Vince and Zach on the bench last night in Las Vegas. They have already started their mentoring program just by being there. Zach was talking a little about his role in helping the commmunity. The 4 rookie interview reveals young men from 4 different quality programs with a great outlook. I still believe character counts in basketball as much as any sport out there. Vince is high character guy. The Kings' team seems to select for character.

Way this.

It's really refreshing to hear us talk about our new vets preparing our future and willingness to mentor our rookies instead of:

- Drunk driving and failed alcohol tests
- Spousal domestic battery
- Nightclub brawls

I was banned from the forum for a long time for suggesting that Cousins was the wrong guy to lead a franchise due to his inherent character flaws. The management of this team eventually seems to have agreed with that premise and they have made a huge turn around in that regard. I am very proud of the kind of people that are on the Kings roster and it is easy to root for them.

Some people asked me recently which NBA team I follow and I said the Kings. I have followed the Celtics for years since meeting Red A, and now they have IT from UW, but my first response was still the Kings. Character matters in sports especially Bball and in Life.

Did you guys see this vid? To think Vince has a vid like this against every franchise is amusing. That guy wasn't just a unicorn athletically, he was winged Pegasus.

I see you used the past tense ... I believe that might be a tad premature. His best days are behind him, but I suspect there are still a few tricks left in his bag.

(Good to see you back, BTW. Your avatar confuses me however.)

It's the fact that Vince was so incredibly athletic that has allowed him to play into his forties. Even as age has done it's work, he's only gone from a superb athlete to a very good one.

I agree that Vince Carter speaking about what is required for him to play is inspiring. If this work ethic rubs off on the young fellas or even one of them it will be career changing.
I already see him and Fox as an instant connection. Watching this and our rookie highlights on repeat until tip off..
