I agree with you that its unlikely that Evans lasts till the 34th pick in the draft. I see him going at the bottom of the first round, and frankly, I think he shoule be going mid first round. He's that talented. I disagree on your comparison of Leaf and Zach Collins. To me, there is no comparison. Collins is the far superior player and the best center in this draft. When you compare their minutes, and what they accomplished, Collins is the winner. He's taller at seven foot. He's a better athlete, and he's just as skilled with more tools in his tool box. Such as being a very good shotblocker and a better rebounder. Colliins is the better shooter from the three. To me, Collins is a top ten player, and Leaf, who I like, is a mid to late round player.

I like Motley, and defensively he shows a lot of potential, but if I had the choice between Motley and Jarrett Allen, I would go with Allen. Motley does have some offensive skills, but he''s a year or two away from being able to play significant minutes in the NBA offensively. So I look at him as a long term project that could be worth the effort. But not at 10. Evans would definitely be a reach at 10, but you could plug him in almost right away at the backup position. Motley would spend the entire year in the D-League. Excuse me, the G-League.

By the way, I don't see any comparison between Motley and Robinson. So I agree with there. For one thing, I think Motley has legit size where Robinson was undersized at the PF position. Robinson relied almost totally on his athleticism in college, and then struggled in the NBA. Motley is more skilled overall than Robinson, although while a good athlete, not as athletic as Robinson. So Motley does have an offensive foundation to start with. Robinson was more of a blank check, that unfortunately remains somewhat blank years later.
It looks like you mis-read that bit about Collins and Leaf. I wasn't comparing them, just saying that they are both guys projected to go in the middle of the first round who wouldn't be seen as big reaches at #10. You're right that there is no comparison. biltalent was asking me why I would have Evans and Motley under consideration at #10 when all the mocks have them going much lower than that and my rationale is we're trying to find the best player on the board not "win" the draft. If you can trade down and get the guy you want at a lower pick while adding additional assets that's great but there won't necessarily be a trade there just because we want one. Every year there are a few players who are overlooked and fall 10, 20, or 30 spots lower than they should have been drafted. Knowing what we know now nobody would bat an eye at taking Isaiah Thomas at #10 (other than being surprised he lasted that long) but on draft day that pick would have been ripped apart. I brought up Motley because I think he'll be better than his current projection but he's barely under consideration for me at 10, and his injury makes me pretty certain he'll slip into the second round after all.

Another player I wouldn't mind the Kings taking in the 2nd round is Devin Robinson of Florida. He's a 6'8" SF who is a very good athlete, and a very good defender at the college level. He's blessed with an almost 7 foot wingspan. He can, depending on the matchup, defend three positions.. When he played agai

No, I understand what your were saying. I was speaking in more general terms, but didn't do a very good job of it since I was replying to you. By the way, I like Devin Robinson as a long term project. Very good athlete, with a decent shot when squared up, but he takes too many bad shots. Has some bad habits, but all are correctable. He's already a good defender who can defend more than one position, and the Kings dearly need some players that can defend on the perimeter to give our bigs a bit of a break. Robinson is a player I would draft and immediately send to the G-League for the year. In a year or two, we might have ourselves a good rotational player. At worse he might become a solid 3 and D player.

Interested in your take of Nigel Williams-Goss. I watched a lot of Gonzaga this year (Saint Mary's fan). I think he has a shot to be a long term rotational guard. A back up point that can run the pick and roll, hit 3s and competes on D seems like a good use of a second rounder. Reminds me of Seth Curry, but with actual point guard skills.

I sort of run hot and cold on Goss. He's one of those players that will drive you nuts at times with his inconsistency. He'll go 9 for 16 in one game, and then go 5 for 19 in the next. He sort of did that all year. I think Curry is a better overall shooter. Goss also struggled to create his own shot at times. He's a good passer and usually found a way to get into the lane, but sometimes dribbled into trouble. I don't blame him for transferring to Gonzaga from Washington with Fultz coming in, and it paid dividends with Gonzaga's run toward a national title.

If I'm Goss I return to Gonzaga for my senior year and hope for another run. If not, then I see him on a G-League team somewhere. I doubt he gets drafted, and hey, I'd have no problem with him being on the Reno team. Maybe in a year or so, you might have something.

This is the pick with the most mystery around it for me. The 5 and 10 can be filed down to seemingly just a handful of choices.

D.J. Wilson is reportedly staying in the draft. He'd be exceptional value, pipe-dream scenario.. I think he'll go in the first though, same with Duke's Frank Jackson - I don't agree with DX who's got him mocked at like 38 or so, the Jazz would be very smart to take him at #24 or #30, he's a lot like George Hill.. Add Bam Adebayo and Hamidou Diallo to this top tier of scenarios.

There should be a very solid bigman still on the board, someones gonna fall right into their laps, I'm sure. there's also sure to be several 'safe' picks that might not be the best value draft wise but on the court could be well worth the selection. Jeanne is worth taking at that spot, I'm sure, they don't make em like that kid every year.

Tyler Lydon is an interesting name. He could fall right to them. Tony Bradley, I love Derrick White and spotted him early in the college season, he's remarkably complete and I'm not suprised one bit his stock has risen as it has, I've got no problems with Pacenicks or Lessort (who I prefer over Jordan Bell), Semi Ojeleye is a very interesting pick too, he's supremely high character surely a great lockerroom presence fro

Semi Ojeleye and Devin Robinson are my picks if the Kings are looking at 3&D forwards. Blossomgame too but his shot may never be consistent.

Some mocks still have Juwan Evans in the 2nd round. He'd be a no-brainer to me if there. Otherwise Frank Jackson isn't a bad option at PG. The Kings are looking at Morris but I don't know if he's in the running at #34 or if they think he might go undrafted. I don't know if I like him over other guys that might be there at 34 but I do like him and see potential for him to be a solid backup or 3rd PG.

It sucks Andrew Jones and Maryland's Justin Jackson pulled out, they were worthy of going #34 in my book. Hamidou Diallo too, he's good enough to go in the 1st round - There's not some crazy depth at SG in next years draft though, if he can shoot it well from 3 he'll go much higher.

Might draft a player from Europe and stash him there for a couple of years. Especially if that European slides a bit from the late 1st round into early 2nd.
Rodions Kurucs? I think it's more likely he goes higher than expected than falls to the 2nd. He's young with a long set of arms and he's got a smooth game and a nice skill level. Vastly superior prospect to lets say Sergey Karasev.

The other Latvian, Pacenicks could be in play too 7'1" lanky shotblocker with 3pt range.

A Euro I'd actually not mind them taking all the way up at 34 is Lithuanian, Arnoldas Kulboka. He's a 6''9" SF who can really shoot it, catch+shoot and off the dribble.

I like Devin Robinson, not as much as Kyle Kuzma, but I like him. I always think of this play when it comes to him tho so I might have a little bias.

#34 for T. Rozier. With Fultz going to Boston Rozier seems like he could be available. Boston currently has #1 #37 #53 #56 in the draft. Would adding another early second move the needle for them? As for Rozier himself he's still unproven but he plays tough D and goes hard at the rim although he's still working on the finishing part. Thoughts?

Just looked at DX, they currently have us taking Mathias Lessort at 34 in the mock draft. He's a high energy big playing in the French league.
I think 34 will depend a bit on positions we address in the 1st round, but I did like the clips I saw of this kid. He's mostly playing near the basket so not sure about all around skill sets but his high motor can not be denied.

If the Board falls as it sits in the DX draft. I'm taking Frank Jackson easy. He'd be a great pickup and can play next to and behind De'Aaron Fox if needed. He's a scoring guard thru and thru and strong as ox with ample explosiveness, sharp game.
The more I see of this dude the more I like the idea of taking him 34th, definitely way better than the 7-footer the Spurs drafted in 2015 Milutinov.

Obviously he's not the next Porzingis. He's not the next Beidrins either. Looks like, and the Kings should be aiming for this, the type of 2nd rd pick you try and sign for 4 years.

I'm really high on Frank Jackson. I think he's extremely underrated because of the way he was utilized at Duke. I could see him going toe-to-toe with Fox as our PG. I don't think he'll be there at 34 though. Fans overlook him, but I don't think NBA scouts will.

I like Pasecniks too. He could be a solid 3rd or 4th big.

Just by looking at the mock drafts out there it seems there will probably be value bigs to be had in the second round. After the lottery through pick 30 most mock drafts are loaded with bigs. With how the game is being played right now you will likely see playoff type teams reach on guards and wings. That would mean we might find a top 20 type talent at 34 if we do our homework.

I would be fine with Juwan Evans, Josh Hart, Swanigan, Jordan Bell, Ivan Rabb, Frank Jackson. I think all of those guys have a solid chance of being rotation NBA players.

Rabbi pulled out of the draft last year.

I don't believe he pulled out this year. The deadline passed a while ago.
My mistake then. I must of read it wrong or from last season that he was returning. I have heard nothing on him which led me to believe he returned to school. Has he even worked out for any teams?

If they could pickup Evans without trading down, even if they get Fox, HUGE! Evans looks like a total floor general reminding me of Avery Johnson a bit. Very crafty player.

Rabb has worked out for the Lakers, Blazers, and Heat. Probably others but that's what I remember.
