KHTK

Any chance we can move back to how KHTK sucks convo? As much as I think a certain poster had his cheese slide off his cracker, I hate that I helped derail the talk into a sling of name calling.

To each his own.

I want to know why Nate just wouldn't acknowledge that Kayte is hot this morning.

Hahaha. You'd be surprised at how careful we need to be. There's a thin line between having fun with Kayte in goofy guy talk and sounding oogy and creepy. Kayte knows I think she's a piece but we also go back a long way and my respect for her is well documented. I get Nate's trepidation.

Nah, I get it. Just wanted you to acknowledge that. ;) Your history with her is well documented.

I will repeat that I still don't understand how you, looking like you, have the wife you have and the best friend/coworker you have. You must have a great "sense of humor"

I say the above, knowing you agree with it.

Hahaha. I swear I worked in the diamond mines in my past life.

I love Doug Christie.

Doug Christie is unlistenable as Grant's sidekick. Worse than Mike Lamb. He's out of his element. I hope they have a graceful exit strategy for a great Kings asset.

I really love Doug Christie.
I actually really like him on the radio. I could be crazy but I really dig his zany approach

He has the lady he does because women love funny charismatic guys...that they know won't be able to cheat on them lol.

Which to me is funny as Dave is very different off the radio and in person. Almost introverted.

Does anyone listen to the morning show 6-9? Just curious what your thoughts might be.
Not a fan of that morning show. Never will be a fan of Nate, I wish the Rise Guys were actually on at that time because I would listen to them then. I just don't really listen in the morning anymore.

Not a fan of the Noon show either but do like it better than the morning. I listen to that until 2pm then I switch to the Rise Guys for an hour. (used to listen to the Rise Guys the rest of the afternoon until recently)

I actually love the Grant Napear show with Doug Christie now. Doug being on with Grant has changed that show tremendously, for the better. Grant also seems much happier these days now that Doug is in there.

My litmus test for Sacramento sports radio. Would the show exists if the Kings did not exist? The morning show NO, Grant maybe.....

I like Nate, he's sarcastic and cynical (two of my favorite traits). I think the three of them together are a good fit. My only minor complaint is that Kayte tends to side with the players too much.

To me it feels like Nate tries too hard and it sounds like he lacks confidence imo. Might not be accurate but that's what I hear when he's on. From all I've heard he's a pretty good well liked dude outside the studio though.

And so, we've come full circle... ish.

Two years later and it is, once again, the Wednesday after the NFL conference championships. Once again, the Kings play tonight. Once again, there was no football game yesterday, and there won't be one tonight, and there won't be one tomorrow, and there won't be one this weekend, unless you count the Pro Bowl (and, once again, why would you?). When I created this thread two years ago it was to complain about the fact that we were in this exact circumstance, and the radio station that is ostensibly the Home of the Kings was talking about football on a day where the Kings had a game scheduled that night, and there was no football. So, I missed the first segment of the morning show (because 9am ET is right around when I'm wrapping up my morning routine), and I tuned in to the show in time for the second segment, to hear them talking about what? Ben Rothlisberger!

I didn't bother with the rest of the first hour.

For some reason, I decided to try again in the second hour. They're still not talking about the Kings but, I gotta say, this food discussion is still a major improvement over the football talk. I'll check out the third hour.

I liked that segment; it would have been better without Napear (and Goodyear, of course), but Dave and Kayte pulled it out. They almost managed to make Napear sound entertaining.

I still try and listen during my commutes but I don't find KHTK to really offer anything of value as a Kings fan. Kayte was gone for a while recently and that made it completely uninteresting to me. She at least has some unique perspective to offer. I loved Doug as a player but he's tough to listen to on the radio. Smooth Jazz is always available for those of us who wish to relive those dentist office waiting room hours.
