Get Cousins, Rudy & Ben to the NYC All Star Game

#1
Let's Get Cousins & Gay to the NYC All Star Game.

I know what some of you will say already. Cousins will be out too many games and it's a popularity contest. Gay is not good enough etc etc.

Ben should be in the raising stars game and casting some All Star game votes for him might raise his profile. Would love to see him do the dunk contest again. The more votes these guys get, they higher profile they will have. When it comes time for reserves selection, players are often selected from the next runner ups in the voting.

Also, keep in mind the world knows how good Cousins is now. So naturally, he will get much more votes than years past.

Please vote everyday and in multiple ways. We can do it.

Taken from Ben's FB.

Five ways to vote:

1. Vote at nba.com/asb

2. Tweet his first and last name with #nbaballot. Retweets count. Example: DeMarcus Cousins #nbaballot

3. In your Facebook comments, write DeMarcus Cousins #nbaballot. Or create your own post using this: DeMarcus Cousins #nbaballot.

4. Instagram - Post a picture of DeMarcus using this in the comments - DeMarcus Cousins #nbaballot

5. TEXT Cousins to 69622. (Substitute with Gay, McLemore etc)

Voting ends January 19. You can vote as many times as you want.

One more important tip: DO NOT VOTE for players from other teams in the same category as our guys.

Yes, exactly. Here is my voted today.

West
Frontcourt: Cousins, Gay, Thompson
Backcourt: McLemore, Collison

To mix it up, sometimes I may substitute Kaman into Thompson's spot. But NEVER vote for Aldrige, Marc Gasol, Randolph etc. Those guys are our competitors.

VF21 is right. The more big guys voted, the harder it will be for Big Cuz to make it.

I hope he won't miss more time and will still be on the radar for the voters. I want my Big Cuz All-Star jersey lol. Hope it don't have sleeves

Yes, but more specifically is that if you don't want to vote all Kings players all the time, vote for a scrub frontcourt player. Guys that will never make it such as Robert Sacre.

NEVER vote for Marc Gasol, Aldrige, Randolph etc.

But ALWAYS vote for Cousins, Gay, the guys that actually have a chance on our team.

you should change the title of this thread to All-star weekend since you've included Ben McLemore...surely you don't think he will be an all-star at any point in his career...

Thanks for sharing HereWeVivek. Plus I like how it conveniently has #15 on it (if you know what I mean;))

I had no idea this all star game was in nyc. i kept thinking it was in Miami or in a southern state. I don't know why

I won't vote for Ben as an All Star because of a general stance that that stuff kills All Star legitimacy, Still remmeber the year Lakers fans stuffed the ballots to vote in A.C. Green over Karl Malone, it was disgusting. Won't be casting any votes for JT or Collison either,

Rudy though I can squint enough to make that vote -- he won't win, but he deserves some recognition. And if Cuz can just get back oncourt sometime soon that's a no brainer.

I think things have gotten a little confused here. If you check the game thread, you'll see that I mentioned the campaign to get Ben into the #RisingStars competition. :)

I think everyone knows what we are referring to. I actually did think about putting "all star weekend" in the title. But this is really mainly for Cousins to ASG.

I have a sick feeling in my stomach that Jeremy Lin will steal a starter spot. If you look on Facebook on any of the NBA posts where you can comment there are hundreds and hundreds of Jeremy Lin posts everywhere.

If that happens, rules will have to be changed/challenged. That would be ridiculous. Maybe a rule that says in order to play in the ASG you have to be top 2 in scoring or rebounding on your team..

There is simply no way any Kings player is going to get voted in to the All-Stars.
It's a popularity contest, and Sacramento doesn't have the media machine or national (and worldwide) presence to garner more votes than the stars of the league.

Even if Cousins had been playing (AND destroying) the league all season, he wouldn't have gotten voted in by the "fans".
It would take a behind-the-scenes push from the NBA powers to get Cousins to be voted in.
We'll see.

So we shouldn't vote?

I'd say it's pretty pointless at this point in time. Maybe in a few years when Cousins is a bigger name but right now it's kind of like a wasted vote. Voting for Cuz/Gay would have the exact same impact as if you didn't vote for them.

Continue to vote by all means. Even if he doesn't get in on the voting ballot, a lot of votes sends a positive message. Vote for him because he deserves it.

Vote via nba.com, vote via Twitter and vote via Facebook.

Kings fans have made a difference at least twice this year thus far by voting for the Tuesday night game on NBA-TV.

VOTE!!!!!
