Seeing Rudy Gay and the other new players walk down from the box seats going through the crowd like that reminded me of late 90s wrestling, when a new wrestler would show up switching from WCW to the WWE to stir up some trouble.

See, IT cannot start. :)

To be fair, this has become a very different situation all of a sudden. Wow.

Gay will be a challenge to fit into what worked tonight though. But the entertainment value jumped exponentially. I'll take that.

Bye bye top draft pick.
It never was about him being able to start, at least for me. It was about what would happen to our spark off the bench. That still needs to be resolved.

No one is going to care that Jimmer tried to run an offense involving N'Diaye. At this point I'm quite sure that Jimmer doesn't have a future on our team, but for the sake of his career he's going to need to be a little more selfish at times.
I agree. If only Jimmer would just chuck as much as Thorton and Ben he might actually have some good stats

They solved the post passing problem by having other guys do it. What a diff a coach makes.

The bench is a bit vacant now. They have no choice but to start IT though.

Him on the bench was a luxury we no longer have.

Friggin awesome game. IT looked good as a starter. Heck, he's looked great all year regardless of his role.
D-Will, D-Will, D-Will....Did Adelman crap the bed on another young stud SF? Only time will tell.
Cousins is....A monster. A little sloppy tonight, but thats the kind of thing that will get better with experience. Easy to forget how young he is when he's completely obliterating WC playoff teams.

The bench will be fine, one of JT or Williams will go to the bench and one of Cousins, IT or Gay will always be on the floor. Staggered rotations, its what most of the good teams do, we were just filled with so many journeymen that we had to resort to mob subsitutions. You could take out Gay, Cousins or IT around the 4 minute mark, put him back in to start the 2nd, with timeouts and breaks between quarters thats a good 6-8 minutes of rest.

Also Outlaw is pretty useful as a high energy athlete with lenght that gives you 100% every minute, will hit the occasional shot also. He fits into what it looks like we are trying to build, gives effort and is pretty solid defensively too.

Best game Kings have played in years. Just utter domination on both ends from the starters. We've had great games the last 4 years, but none on the level of tonight. Just never seen us so willing to play team ball and Actively look to get OTHER people shots rather than for them to get theirs.

Boogie showed what he can be with some help in the starting 5. . With Williams and IT rolling tonight, he all of a sudden had a staggering amount of 1on1 match-ups vs Blair. Which is a huge advantage for us every time. 19 rebounds is fantastic. 12-14 from the FT line is fantastic. The 9 TO's were not. I hope Malone or someone tells him he's not allowed to dribble the ball up the floor anymore. It's simply not a productive play and has resulted in far too many TO's the last 2 weeks that he's done it.

-Tonight is what Derrick Williams has the potential to do. Be extremely athletic, contribute on the boards, contest shots on defense, hit open spot-up shots, and create off the dribble when he needs to. His 31 points came almost entirely within the flow of the offense and getting out in transition. By far his best game in a Kings jersey, but probably the best game of his career.

That's not the argument, whether he can start or should start with a depleted team and no other decent option at PG. Not the argument at all.
Jokes man. Jokes.

The IT argument is well documented. He was brilliant tonight. Jaw on floor.

Glad I have him on my fantasy team.

SO who gets the bench out of JT, Gay, and Williams?
I say Williams goes to the bench simply because Gay has a more proven track record. It would be interesting to see Gay be part of the bench because he doesn't need a point guard to create a shot for him. Williams hasn't shown me enough ability to create his own shot.

I say cause of his defence Williams should be starting and if JT gets in early foul trouble move him to PF and bring in Rudy Gay for scoring punch of the bench.

Well we won't really need much scoring from the bench with Cousins, Gay and IT and Williams chipping in. We just need guys that will defend and hit an open shot, rebound and play with energy. This is why I'm curious about Acy and am fine with Outlaw, since apparently that is what Acy brings and Outlaw is fine also in that limited minute role.

Rudy wasn't brought here to be on the bench... Williams and Rudy will both be starting, but I think something will have to give as that's a lot of offense on the floor at the same time. Not quite sure what will happen

I imagine the next trade will be for salary dump and bench players.

I am worried about the starting line-up... we played beautifully tonight, but Rudy wasn't even playing... neither were the two other guys. D-Will went off (I am starting to really like him). Egos will have to take a backseat here, but there's something going on in Sac-town... something's brewing big time. We just scratched the surface tonight and we destroyed the Mavs. They had one good run and they were finished after that. They just beat Portland too. Damn this is fun... it's been a long time coming. It's like the return of an old friend you haven't seen in a decade

id be fine if malone brought rudy off the bench on weds. he would have the excuse of easing him in with little practice and not have to deal with messing with dwill's head by benching him after he has a career night in pts and steals. then put rudy in the next game for whoever doesnt play well between JT and dwill.

Williams is not a typically a 'volume' consistent high attempt player. He plays within the game and flow of the offense,.. doesn't "demand" the ball. I don't see it as a problem at all
