Also, rounding up the nine minutes to make it even, atxrocker times out at 3:00 AM. West coast time.

SacKings7's drafting of the Hot Babe Draft girls doesn't take those girls off the table completely; they are all still available to be drafted individually or as a part of some other group/theme. Just as AleksandarN's drafting of the internet doesn't rule out the possibility of someone else taking a website.

To use your hypothetical (rather than spoiling other ideas), "all the pretty girls in the world" could still be drafted. However, if SacKings7 felt that directly infringed on his pick, he could challenge and possibly go through arbitration (leaving the decision up to VF21, who has graciously accepted the job of impartial arbiter).

Pdx can of course chime in if this is incorrect, but I think it's easiest to think of this draft more in terms of wishlists than an actual physical universe in which these things can only exist on one island at a time. The challenge system exists because we would like to see lists unique enough to make voting possible, but the fun of the draft is in seeing everyone's creativity and personal taste.
Totally within the original concept. I would say that Brick's example is borderline but that if someone wanted to just pick "girls" or "women" that is also entirely within the concept. Or they could pick any other list of women, including one of the individual draft entries.

What I don't like about Brick's example is that you could use this as a too easy way to intrude on other picks. For example I have selected Rock n Roll. Anyone else could pick a band or a specific genre of Rock n Roll music. But I don't think we would want to allow someone to pick "Good Rock n Roll".

I'm just wondering why anybody is ever going to pick a single example of anything as long as vast generalizations or sets will do and there is all kinds of overlap. Even setting aside SacKings Hot Babes girls, I could just as easily say "all the pretty girls NOT in the Hot Babes draft" rather than just picking a favorite one.

Suggestion? Instead of playing what if or wondering why, perhaps it would be easier just to wait and see if it happens and deal with it then?

Yeah even though I generalized my last pick, I'm not gonna be doing that too much with the rest of my picks

What I've felt, what I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
    Never free, never me
    So I dub thee Unforgiven

What I've felt, what I've known
Sick and tired, I stand alone
Could you be there?, 'cause I'm the one who waits for you
    Or are you Unforgiven too?

How can I be lost, if I've got nowhere to go?
Search for seas of gold, how come it's got so cold?
How can I be lost, in remembrance I relive,
And how can I blame you, when it's me I can't forgive?

The whole idea was picking concepts and things that don't fit into one easily draftable category, and just give you the leeway to be as creative as possible. It also assumed some general amount of anarchy.

I'm predicting this is going to get really interesting about round 6 or so.

You know, when I saw my crappy draft position in this draft I thought I was not going to get this. But when I noticed that every single drafter picking above me was a man -- in fact so far as I can tell every single drafter other than GGG in this one is a man -- I knew there was a real chance. Because as many a woman will tell you: men are dumb.

    So I pick:

    Chocolate

For food, for drink, hell, I may even bathe in it as long as I have all of it.

Yep. I knew that would be your first pick.

In fact, I went ahead and took it off my own list as soon as I saw you were picking before me.

So remember that guy everyone was worried would pick the really broad things and be all inclusive? That was me . With my first pick in the drafts to end all drafts, I thought I'd go for a real doozie of a first pick, therefore I select:

    Life

Not the cereal, but life in any form, in any time, on this planet and otherwise. Life has so many wonderful forms and features from humans to horseflies, dinosaurs to dandilions, protists to pigeons, aliens to elves, vegetation to viruses, and fruit to fungus. I don't know where I'd be without it, and it's mine, all mine !!!

Good pick, but I'm pretty sure the rest of us still get to live

I'm actually a big fan of Bozz's simplicity. By ommiting any description whatsoever he pretty much gets a two for one with an activity and a food item. Well played sir.

    Aargh...so I have become predictable.

    And hence boring.

For the first pick in the good draft I choose...

    The Weather.

If I want it overcast, 75 degrees, with a slight wind, so it is!

If I want a Hawaiian torrential downpour, so it is~!

A vicious thunderstorm that has no effect on me?
    So be it!!!

The weather is what I want it to be.
